Next for our Meet the Team🤪

If you’ve not seen Keisha around the gym, where have you been?!

Keisha joined us in November as our Gym Floor Manager, taking care of our members & making sure our PT’s are hitting their client goals!

You’ll be sure to see her around the gym smiling and dancing around with THE best moves🔥

However, we do have some news…

Keisha’s last day will be 14th July as she is going on to venture out further into the world to Dubai! After 6 years in the gym industry she’ll be going into something totally new!!

During your fitness journey you’ll come across many myths that may slow down your progress or even hold you back!👀

While most of these of commonly believed, they are just myths & shouldn’t change your outlook on fitness💪🏼

Myth #1 - you should stretch before your workout

• Research has shown that when people are forcing their cool muscles to relax by overextending, it creates stress hormones that flood the body, which is the opposite reaction expected from people trying to relax a stiffened area!

Instead, your pre workout warm up should include some cardiovascular exercise to warm up the body & some dynamic/mobility movements!

Myth #2 - lifting weights will bulk you up

• Especially for women, this one is huge to hold someone back from lifting weights in the gym or at home!

Lifting weights regularly can improve your heart health, keep your joints, tendons & ligaments feeling good, boost your metabolism, increase your energy and yes make you feel stronger!

BUT!

What lifting weights won’t do is give you unwanted bulkiness unless you are specifically training to do so!

Myth #3 - If you don’t feel sore the next day after a workout, you didn’t train hard enough

• No matter your level of fitness, we are all familiar with that burning/stiff pain that creeps up on us after a tough workout!

However, not all workouts will cause this, no matter how hard you train a certain group of muscles, here’s why:

The soreness after a workout comes from over training the larger (global) muscles such as quadriceps, glutes, biceps etc. So when you next do a great workout and don’t feel sore the next day, don’t put yourself down, you’ve done a workout your body thanks you for.

Taylor is also very new to the team but has settled in well with taking on classes and making them her own🔥

Changing careers from toxicology to personal training to now really making a difference in people's lives with health and fitness! You can't beat the smile on a clients face when they smash all their goals 🥰

Onto one of our newest members to the team🔥

Meet Lauren ,our fitness instructor/soon to be Personal Trainer that is new to our team but not new to Multifit!

Lauren has been a member with us & wanted to start gaining experience in the gym while she is finishing off her studies for her Level 3!

People not tidying their equipment up after they use it (I think we all agree with this one)😅

4. What is yours or clients biggest accomplishment?

My accomplishment is how far i’ve come in my own fitness journey and have grown so much in body confidence. I used to be insecure and would never feel comfortable in any type of clothing, to now starting to help others in their fitness journeys!🫶🏼
