The blazers social media team have had an extended Christmas break but we are back now to bring you all things blazers! 🔥

Whilst we’ve been away we’ve had two new additions to the team Oliver and Leon. Welcome boys!

We were promoted to championship over Christmas too! We’ve had a couple of games since our last update so here’s a quick recap;

We also had the privilege to be asked by Salford City FC to go along to their game against Forest Green Rovers Football Club earlier this month. We were given the opportunity to walk out with forest green allowing father and son (Luke and Finn) to walk out together! A special moment indeed.

Getting knocked out the Christmas cup last week saw us host a friendly against a team two leagues above us. Some winter bugs knocking a few of our lads for six this week we certainly held our own and gave them a good challenge!

The first 1/3 was anyone’s game but a few lapses in concentration in the 2/3 saw us concede a few goals and put us on the back foot. The final 3/3 we came back strong but unfortunately the deficit was too large to come back.

With two 🚀🚀 goals and sheer determination saw Rory our MOTM this week

Boothstown blazers under 8s are looking at adding 1-2 players in the new year ( Jan 2024) in anticipation to going to 7 a side next season. We currently train Thursdays and play Saturdays in the championship at MYSL (Fives Trafford center)

Semi finals!

A cold November morning saw us play our semi final in the Christmas cup. Playing a team we’d played earlier in the year again, we knew it would be tough.

Starting a little slow and trying to still defrost we went 1-0 down early on and was an uphill battle for the remainder of the game. We kept their keeper entertained but with a peformance like peak Ederson we struggled to find the back of the net.

A tough day in the office and unfortunately we are out the cup. Good luck to the remaining teams!

Onwards and upwards and we moving up into the MYSL championship in the new year! We have a brilliant bunch of lads and no doubt will bounce back with a bang.

Quarter finals!

Topping our group put us in a solid place for the quarter finals putting us against a team we had a brilliantly close game with earlier in the season.

The first 15 minutes could have been anyone’s game with some good chances from both sides. The blazers then changed gears and started playing some brilliant football and the goals started flowing. Solid from attack to defence with some great passages of play throughout the game we were very unlucky not to keep the clean sheet. (Much to Finn’s annoyance!)

Two great free kicks and another tireless effort from Zac saw him our man of the match today.
