Enjoy an afternoon in half term being physical and creative!
Led by David Colley, you will be guided through games, challenges and sequences to unlock new skills and fun creativity. No prior movement experience required.

Perfect for boys who would like to explore movement skills in a welcoming, inspiring environment.

Date: Thursday 28th May 2026
Time: 1.30 - 4 pm
Cost: FREE

Suitable for ages: 11 -14 years

What to wear / bring: Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely without risk to your modesty. A jumper to keep you warm on breaks. Please note that participants will be bare-foot [socks with grips permitted]. Bring a snack plus water to keep hydrated.

Salford’s Lowry is hosting an Open Day and Auditions for young movers who would love to train in dance at Lowry from September 2026 with Lowry Centre for Advanced Training (Lowry CAT).

Lowry are calling for young people who are passionate about dance and interested in exploring this art form further, even pursuing a career in dance.

Spend a morning in May half term discovering the magic of movement, exploring ways to devise and perform dance.

If you are a super-keen mover, you can take this opportunity to find out more about how Lowry Centre for Advanced Training dancers train.

This workshop is for all levels, beginner-advanced
Suitable for ages 11-15 [no prior experience necessary]

Date: Thursday 28th May
Time: 10 am – 12.30 pm
Cost: ONLY £7 !

What to wear / bring: Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely without risk to your modesty. A jumper/top to keep you warm on breaks. Please note that participants will be dancing bare-foot. Bring water to keep hydrated plus a healthy snack.

You have until next Wednesday to apply for our Stage Door Award! 🎦

Now's the time to start an application if you've been thinking about it.

As a reminder, applicants must be: 👇

- 5-21 years old and living in Salford.
- engaged in the performing arts. That could be theatre, music or dance!
- be prevented from progressing in their hobby due to financial circumstances.

Parents, guardians and other mentors can apply on behalf of a young person.

Once we've been through all the applications, we'll award three young people £1,000 each to put towards their passion for performing arts.
