💚 Vinnie Woods Memorial Competition 2026 💚

What an absolutely brilliant day! 🥰

A huge THANK YOU to every single person who helped make today such a special and memorable one. Whether you helped with the organising, set-up, food, raffle, scoring, running the competition, clearing up afterwards, took part in the bowling, or simply came along to spectate and support — we genuinely couldn’t have done it without you! 💚

A massive thank you to all 16 pairs who took part. It was fantastic to see everyone getting stuck in, having a laugh and enjoying themselves around the green. And to everyone who came along to watch and cheer the players on — your support helped create such a brilliant atmosphere! 👏🏻

Most importantly, today was about remembering Vinnie and celebrating the kind of community, friendship and good times that he loved. Seeing so many people come together, have fun and make memories in his name made the day incredibly special. ❤️

A huge congratulations to our winners and runners-up! 🏆👏🏻 We hope the keepsake trophies give you something lovely to remember the day by for years to come. The winners will also now have their names engraved on the competition shield, meaning they will become part of its history.

Today really was everything we hoped it would be — good bowling, plenty of laughs, a fantastic atmosphere and lots of lovely people coming together to remember someone very special. 💚

New School Year, New Start....why not encourage your child to come down and have a go. Friendly environment, prepare for the Autumn weather with trainers, coats and sun cream. £1 per session. Arrive at 4:30 pm if you wish to leave your child for the session. You will need to complete additional documentation

This competition is being held in memory of a wonderful man who was a familiar face and regular presence in the Irlam & Cadishead League for many years 💚

We’re incredibly grateful for all of the entries we’ve received so far, and it means so much to see people coming together and having a bowl in memory of such a wonderful man — whilst also having fun, having a laugh and enjoying a great day around the green. 💚

And REMEMBER, the more the merrier when it comes to spectators too! You don’t have to be playing to be part of the day. A good crowd around the green can help create an amazing atmosphere, so come along, show your support and enjoy the day with us! 🍻👏

Cadishead Grange Bowling Club is proud to be hosting the Vinnie Woods Memorial Invitation Mixed Pairs Competition on Saturday 5th September 2026, starting at 10:00am.

This competition is held in memory of our much-loved member, friend and passionate bowler, Vinnie Woods. We hope you'll join us for a fantastic day of bowling as we celebrate his legacy.

‼️ Each pair must consist of one female bowler and one male bowler.
