Salford University Boat Club was founded in 1965 by Dave Stocker & Neil McDonald. After numerous moves around the Greater Manchester area the club settled on the Salford Quays, sharing facilities with Agecroft RC. Members, all from the University of Salford, can be regularly seen rowing the water in the Quays, venturing up towards the Lowry Hotel and further afield. The club has a number of male a

Re-introducing Ciara Kiely, our Kit Secretary for the 2024/2025 season!

Ciara has recently graduated from the University of Salford and has ties to kit manufacturers.

She’s been an integral part of the club and has rowed for years!

Josh won Novice Rower of the Season last season so the club is definitely in safe hands! Josh joined SUBC last year and has shown great dedication to the club and its members.

Our men’s captain for the 2024/2025 season is Finn Parr!
Finn joined SUBC in January and has been a dedicated and driven member of the squad.
He’s been rowing for 6 years, so holds a lot of experience and is always willing to go the extra mile.

Our fourth member of committee is Oliver Harris!
Oliver is our Secretary for the 2024/25 season.

Ollie started rowing last year and has shown great commitment to the boat club.

Ollie says: “I always cook with wine. Sometimes I even add it to the food”

Introducing our second committee member Charlie Hawken as our Social Secretary and Well Being. 🥳

Charlie is a big character at socials and always brings good energy at training sessions.

Introducing our first member of the 2024/25 Committee, Freya Spronston-Ritchie. 🔵🟡🔵

Freya started rowing last year and she is stepping into a new role for the 2024/25 season as women’s captain.

Freya said: “I’m excited to get more women involved in the sport and can’t wait to see how far the squad will go!”
