We got to meet 21 people lovely people who joined us for tonight’s free tag rugby taster 🏉 Thanks to everyone who came down and got involved!

This week has been all about celebrating the incredible women of Salford Tag 💜

Sunday saw us host the Manchester & Salford Women’s Training Session down at Broughton Cricket & Rugby Club. Every month, an amazing group of women organise FREE female training sessions to help build confidence and develop their tag rugby skills and have a LOT of fun doing it too.

We were buzzing to help support this month’s session and what a day it was ☀️

A huge 35 players attended the session, with even more joining for the picnic afterwards. The vibes were fabulous, the energy was brilliant, and it was amazing seeing women of all abilities getting involved and growing in confidence together 💪🏼

Then Monday brought TWO incredible milestones for our league…

For the first time ever, we had a fully female refereeing roster, with four of our female refs running every single game across the evening 👏

We love all of our referees, but seeing women stepping up, leading games and inspiring the next generation of female refs in our Salford Tag community was super special.

Secondly, our Monday league teams SMASHED the female percentage try record yet again 🤯🔥

Across the entire evening, over 48% of all tries scored were by female players - an amazing stat and a huge reflection of the inclusivity in our league, whilst showing the impact women are having across our leagues every single week 💜

Did you know that over 40% of our 300-player Salford community is made up of female players? Something we’re massively proud of 👏

🏆 Pankhurst Plate Update 🏆

On Mondays, Tries Before Guys continue to lead the way at the top of the standings, but the chasing pack are closing in. Scrum And Coke are the big movers climbing the table, while several other teams remain well within touching distance as the battle for the Plate heats up.

Over on Thursdays, things are ridiculously tight with FOUR teams currently in the hunt with over 50% female / two-point tries 💪Leading the pack are After All You're My Wonderball, closely followed by Pro-TAG-onists, Girliepops and Gaggin-4-A-Taggin.

Still plenty to play for with lots of teams not too far behind 👏 Remember female tries are not just worth one more point, they are worth DOUBLE!!
