🥇 WHY WRESTLING? LIBBY GENGE TELLS US HER STORY. 🤼‍♀️

For Libby, wrestling has become an important part of what makes her such a strong competitor in Jiu-Jitsu.

In this video, she talks about why she loves training with City of Manchester Wrestling Club — from the community and giving back to the people around her, to improving her movement, cardio and overall performance on the mat.

And the results speak for themselves. 🔥

🥇Gi European

🥇NoGi PanAms

🥇British Champion 2026

Libby explains that people often ask how she has improved so much — and for her, wrestling has made a massive difference.

Whether you compete in wrestling, BJJ, MMA or another combat sport, the right wrestling training can add another level to your game.

Different sport. Same mat. Bigger goals.

**“I DON’T WANT TO GO TO TRAINING TODAY.”**

We hear this from time to time. And, of course, every child has days when they simply don’t feel like training.

We’re not here to tell parents how to raise their children — every family is different, and every child is different.

But after seeing many young athletes develop through wrestling, there’s one thing we’ve noticed.

When children learn that they can sometimes push through the moments when they don’t feel like doing something, they often become more confident, more disciplined and more resilient.

If every *“I don’t want to”* becomes a reason to stop, it can be easy to develop a habit of giving up whenever something becomes difficult.

That doesn’t mean ignoring a child when something is genuinely wrong. It simply means helping them understand the difference between **“I don’t want to”** and **“I really can’t.”**

This is just what we see from our experience at the club.

Wrestling teaches children that progress doesn’t always feel comfortable — and sometimes the most valuable lessons come from turning up anyway. 🤼‍♂️💪

**One session at a time. One challenge at a time.**

BEING A CHAMPION IS A CHOICE. 🏆

Champions aren’t made in a single competition.

They’re made every time you choose to turn up.
Every time you choose to keep going when training gets tough.
Every time you choose discipline over excuses.

At City of Manchester Wrestling Club, we work with wrestlers at every level — from complete beginners stepping onto the mat for the first time to experienced athletes chasing bigger goals.

Your goal might be your first win, a national title, a World Championship or even the Olympic Games.

Whatever your dream, it starts with a choice.

Choose to start. Choose to work. Choose to become a champion. 🤼‍♀️🤼‍♂️🔥
