New sumo wrestling club launches 'for all ages, genders and body types' The South West Sumo Club held its first official session at Scoundrels Grappling in Tidworth on Sunday, March 8.

What an incredible day! 🎉
South West Sumo Club officially opened this weekend with our very first session in Tidworth, and what a turnout we had!

Huge thanks to Sonny Bell, President of English Sumo, for leading the day, and to everyone who travelled from Southampton, Oxford, Portsmouth and even Wales to be part of it.

We’re now based at Scoundrels Grappling in Tidworth and will be running monthly Sunday sessions to introduce more people to this brilliant sport.

And just to say it loudly and clearly: SUMO IS FOR EVERYONE.
All ages, all genders, all body types, all experience levels. No prior training needed, just curiosity and a willingness to give something new a go. The community is friendly, supportive and full of good energy.
