Huge well done to this beautiful lady yesterday for getting a 55kg back squat!! (Above bodyweight!!)

When we first started, Rebecca struggled squatting the barbell and now she’s stacking the plates on it! 💪🏼🤩

Rebecca trains with me once a week and also follows the gym programme I’ve set her in her own time. I’m super proud of everything she’s achieved in the past year, gaining muscle and a significant amount of strength!

8 week progress 🤩

Rebecca has been training with me for just over 8 weeks now with a goal to get stronger and build muscle.
Rebecca’s weight has stayed the same, with a slight increase on the scales but she’s gained muscle and shape without increasing body fat.
She has gone from squatting with a 15kg barbell to squatting 40kg today which is incredible!!
We’ve focused on increasing protein intake whilst keeping calories at around maintenance and Rebecca has been lifting weights 4 times a week.
The physical results are incredible but so is Rebecca’s attitude towards training and nutrition. It’s something that is maintainable and fits into her lifestyle without being over consuming.
Very proud of you Rebecca and excited to see what else you can achieve over the next 8 weeks 💪🏼

Do you feel like you’re doing all the right things but just not getting results?

9 times out of 10 it’s nutrition that’s letting you down.

This doesn’t mean that you need to eat like a bodybuilder and live on chicken, rice and broccoli but it also means that you can’t eat everything in sight because you think you’ve burnt it all off.
Getting sufficient protein is also hugely important whatever the goal (particularly as we age and naturally lose muscle mass!!!!)

The other thing to look at is whether the training your doing is actually pushing you sufficiently and applying progressive overload.
If you always go and do your gym classes with the same weight week on week then chances are it’s not.

If you can relate to any of this then dm me and we can chat about your options. All training is good training but it’s also nice to feel like you’re growing in the process.

We’re already a month into the year and you had all of these fancy plans to get fit and healthy but then when it came to the crunch felt complete overwhelm and haven’t actually gotten started.

It IS overwhelming!

🤯Protein
🤯Tracking calories

And all whilst trying to maintain a happy and productive lifestyle.

This overwhelm and pressure to be ‘perfect’ is why so many people stop before they even get started.

Take a step back and start small.

You don’t need to go full on, ticking every single box.

What small changes can you make that are achievable for where currently are?

An extra morning/ lunchtime walk?

Commit to 3x 30 min strength sessions?

Increase your daily fruit & veg?

If your goal was to run a marathon you wouldn’t go head first to the 26.2 mile would you!?

How many times have you put off getting started on something because you can’t commit to doing it perfectly?

It’s the perfectionist mentality or the ‘all or nothing’ mindset that can often be our worst enemy when it comes to getting started.

Incorporating exercise into your daily life doing have to mean the 1-2hour daily slog everyone thinks it does.
As little as 15-20minutes per day is 100% better than doing nothing at all!

If you’ve been holding out because you’re just to busy to fit anything in right now, guess what? That’s not going to change.

Do you use the New Year to set new goals?

There’s nothing wrong with using the New Year as a fresh slate to improve on the (already awesome) you.

Just be cautious of jumping on the latest fad diet/ over restrictive band wagon.
Anything that promises super quick, drastic results won’t be beneficial in the long run.
