Another one on the grass!!! Swift swap today.

Another one out! This time a relocate from the airing cupboard to the porch, with a complete new gas run. 32 meters of pipe work, 5 core drill holes and job done. The window nearest the flue also had to be sealed closed due to gas regs.

Boiler Condemned in the bedroom and the customer wanted the new one relocated into the kitchen. A couple of long days and lots of pipework but I was happy with the end result.

Back to the trouble heating system (posted 2 July) yesterday. This was filled and drained 4 times that first visit and then left with some quite heavy duty cleaning chemicals for a couple of weeks. Yesterday was more draining, cutting into the system to add a flush kit. After lots of mains flushing and a total of 7 drain downs, managed to move enough of the blockage to get the hot water side of the circuit working and partial heat to the rads but then the boiler keeps over heating. I’m going to back here again in a few weeks with a power flush kit to increase the pressure or worse case, start cutting and replacing pipe work.

Another one hits the grass, followed by a system clean.

Got to love a Friday boiler swap. PRV pipe messing with my OCD but I was required to use the original hole.

Multiple issues with this heating and hot water system. The coil on the cylinder was pin holed, requiring it to be changed. The heating system was absolutely clogged up along with the pump. New pump fitted, filter cleaned 4 times over the 2 days. Managed to get the system running now with heavy duty cleaning chemicals inside and I will go back in a couple of weeks to drain down and mains flush the complete system.

Cylinder swap, when the drain off c**k (DOC) requires you to have ‘go go gadget’ arms to reach. Cylinder changed and DOC moved to a more suitable position.

This 6 year old boiler had never been serviced since it’s original install and died last week.

New;
Heat Engine
Ignition Electrode
Sump
Burner Gasket
Every seal replaced

Gave it a good scrub, put it back together and it fired up a treat. Gas rate and flue readings within the safe tolerances, heating and hot water restored for the customer. 💪

The towel rail element that was leaking here kept tripping the electrics. Quick swap and all is back to normal.
