This month the award goes to Dodie! 🏆

Below are some words from Dodie:

"In 2018, after a serious bereavement, and a hip replacement which went wrong, leaving me still in pain, and walking with a stick, I realised I was gaining weight and losing my mobility. My son gave me an annual membership to Parkwood Health & Fitness, with the words "it's cost a lot, so please use it".

Going to the gym was never on my horizon. But my eyes were opened!

The pool being all one depth is amazing. It's good for AquaFit, which I really enjoy, as well as walking, which has helped my mobility enormously.

With a combination of using the pool and my Personal Trainer, Laura, who not only makes sure I am using the equipment safely but she also pushes me that extra bit each session, I really do make good use of my membership!

I very recently lost my youngest son, and had 2 falls, damaging both of my shoulders. Regularly attending Parkwood, has not only helped me mentally, but it has also reduced my pain levels. I have much more use of my arms, and much more mobility, enabliling me as I fast approach my 80th birthday, to live a fuller and much more independent life.

A membership to Parkwood Health & Fitness really was the best present I could have been given.

Every year our staff complete their Emergency Pool Response & First Aid training to ensure you are kept in safe hands! ⛑️🩹

The training equips staff with the skills to rescue casualties, recover them to poolside, and provide vital first aid, including CPR and AED use. ❤️‍🩹

💦 The wait is over… our whirlpool bath is officially back open! 💦

We’re delighted to let you know that our whirlpool bath has reopened today and is once again ready for you to relax, unwind and recover after your workout. 🫧

A huge thank you goes to John Turner Kitchens & Bathrooms Ltd and Bennett & Dean for their fantastic work throughout the project. Their professionalism, craftsmanship and attention to detail have helped get everything completed to such a high standard, and we really appreciate all of their hard work. 🙏🏼

We’d also like to thank all of our members for your patience while the work was being carried out. We know many of you have been eagerly waiting for its return, and we’re so pleased to welcome you back!
