2004 Michael de Bidaph, managing director of Gearlink Ltd, decided to sponsor an up and coming young rider, James Hillier, in the Virgin Mobile R6 Cup race. James did well and finished in fourth position overall at the end of the British Superbike season.

2005 James was not offered a ride for the season so it was decided to set up Gearlink Racing with James as the

JOB DONE ✔️

Performance15 only ever set out to be a one year thing. To give Rhys Irwin racing a platform to showcase himself and send him to the next stage of his career. That we did, and we did it well.

With the championship won and my rider proven, my job here is done.

Performance15 will no longer run as a race team going forward. I will continue build Performance15 as a business, but I would still be keen to work within the race paddock.

BSB has been a part of my life for the past 24 years. I have a huge passion for bringing riders on, developing their talents and strengthening their careers.

I guess we will wait and see what options open up for me and happens next...

BRITISH SUPERSPORT CHAMPION 2025
Rhys Irwin racing

He did it! We did it! 🧡
What a season it has been for both rider and team! From the first round at Oulton Park to the final flag at Brands Hatch, Rhys has shown heart, determination and true class.
Every lap, every battle and every ounce of hardwork has lead to this well-deserved title.

It’s been far from an easy road — this season has been built on pure determination and teamwork rather than big budgets or factory setups. The team was pulled together at the last minute and the bike built in Ben Wilson’s home garage. Each round tackled from a horse box instead of a gleaming big race truck. But what we've lacked in resources, we more than made up for in heart.

Every member of this small but tight-knit team pulled together, believed in the vision, and made the impossible happen — and now we stand here as British Supersport Champions.

To everyone who’s supported us, stuck by us, and cheered us on through every high and low — thank you. We’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved, and we wish Rhys all the very best for whatever comes next in his racing future.

Team Manager, Ben Wilson said; "We set out at the start of this season, with one goal in mind and that was to give Rhys a platform to showcase his talent- and that he most certainly has done! Hard to believe this kid had no options for 2025, now he's your new SuperSport Champion. Sometimes people just need a lifeline, and myself and Michael are very happy to have given him the bike to do the job. This season has been tough but equally so rewarding. That bike began life as a CoPart piece of scrap. I turned it into a front running machine, that never faulted all season. It's been a pleasure to work with Rhys, he has worked so hard and he deserves this championship. We are all so proud of him and now look forward to watching his career blossom."

That’s a win! 😁

Honestly, I’m so, so happy after today. Taking pole in qualifying already felt great, but to dig deep and turn that into a race win, that’s something special. Huge thanks to the team for giving me an incredible package and letting me ride with a smile. We go again tomorrow 🧡

This is it. This is what all the hard work and determination has been for. The final round of 2025 is here.

Rhys Irwin, it's been one hell of a season! You've ridden the wheels off that Suzuki and you've been an absolute pleasure to work with. You're one of the nicest guys in the paddock, incredibly hard working and fiercely determined.

Gearlink by Performance15 has delivered you a faultless bike round after round, and you've ridden it like a true professional at the top of your game. We may not have had a fancy race truck, enough staff or a massive budget but we've had some serious grit and determination and we've all chased the same goal.

On the eve of the final round of what has been a year we will all never forget, your team at Performance15 wish you all the luck in the world. No matter what happens this weekend, you're a true superstar in all of our eyes and we are sure your army of loyal fans will back us up on that one too!

This season you've shown everyone what your made of, and it is some serious talent Rhys.

We're beyond proud of you and everything you've achieved so far 🧡

Good luck, we're all right behind you 💪🦓

ROUND 4 - KNOCKHILL

SPRINT RACE: P1
FEATURE RACE: P4

What a weekend for Rhys Irwin racing and the Performance 15 team! The conditions were challenging to say the least, for Round 4 at Knockhill in Scotland. Tyre choice definitely played a key role in how the weekend played out, particularly for Saturday's Sprint Race, which seen the smiling Irish man take his first win onboard the Gearlink by Performance15 Suzuki.

Sunday's Feature Race played out in very wet conditions. Along with the heavy rain and spray, came a sea of back markers to weave through from as early as lap 11. Rhys rode a fantastic race and brought Suzi the Suzuki home in 4th place to obtain valuable points to take the lead in the championship.

Irwin now leads the way in the Quattro British SuperSport Championship by 13 points from Stapleford, and 15 points from Kennedy.

Next stop, Brands Hatch 🏁
