What a great day for our Past Captain's Trophy!
A big congratulations to Sylvia Showan, who won this year's Past Captains Trophy with a fantastic 39 points!
It was a really close competition, with Paul Conibear also finishing on 39 points. Sylvia took the win on countback after a great day's golf.
The Past Captains Trophy is always a lovely event, bringing together both current and past captains for a catch-up on and off the course. After the golf, everyone enjoyed a buffet in the clubhouse to round off the day.
Congratulations again, Sylvia, and thank you to everyone who took part!

We are incredibly proud to support one of our talented Junior members, Freya Pallett, as she takes on the ultimate test of endurance right here at John O’Gaunt.
This August, Freya is travelling to South Africa with St Andrew’s Church, Biggleswade, to volunteer at the Mafambisa Care Point. Working alongside the 'Hands at Work' organisation, she will be helping the local Care Workers and supporting the children with vital education, learning, and emotional care.
On Saturday, to push her fundraising over the finish line before she departs next month, Freya is swapping her usual 18 holes for an epic 54-hole golf marathon in a single day! 🏌️♀️ She will be tackling three full back-to-back rounds exclusively on our Carthagena course, walking over 15 miles and teeing off at the crack of dawn.
Let’s show Freya the incredible spirit of the John O’Gaunt membership. Every single pound matters, and any donation—no matter how small—will be gratefully received and make a huge difference to the children and carers of Mafambisa. If you see her out on the fairways, please give her a cheer!
