Saxlingham CC are looking for opposition for a development friendly on Sunday 23rd August. We have a group of u14-u17 players (no county players) and would like to find a similar strength opposition for a 40 over per side match. We will host and can provide a BBQ and friendly bar! ‘The Contemptible’s’, all ex military, are playing Saxlingham Gents this Friday at Saxon Club, NR15 1TD. Bar and BBQ open and raffle with proceeds going to guests chosen military charity. Alll welcome, starts at 6pm

🏏 Saxlingham Cricket Club – May Round-Up 🏏

It’s been a busy first full month of the season at Saxlingham CC, with plenty of highlights already across senior, youth and representative cricket:

✅ Our first competitive adult match since 2023 — and a win in the Wicklewood Shield! https://saxlingham.play-cricket.com/website/results/7257104

✅ A thrilling tied game in our first youth match of the season, as the U17s and Sprowston both scored 144 from 20 overs. Even better, the team debuted their fantastic new shirts thanks to the generous sponsorship of TLCM. https://saxlingham.play-cricket.com/website/results/7415785

✅ Hosting weekly Saturday league cricket featuring Swardeston Cricket Club CEYMS A (including several Saxlingham youth players) and Hethersett and Tas Valley Cricket Club

✅ A sunshine run-fest as Norfolk Cricket Foundation U14 Girls narrowly defeated Cambridgeshire in a match featuring almost 600 runs — including a first career 50 for Saxlingham’s Charlotte Purling 👏

✅ Excellent turnouts at youth training, with 40+ youngsters enjoying cricket in beautiful surroundings, plus a fantastic barbecue thanks to Stuart Purling 🌭☀️

✅ Regular Tuesday and Thursday evening friendly cricket from our sponsors Alan Boswell Group and the Saxlingham CC side.

Congratulations to the Tas Valley Federation Girls' Cricket Team who competed in the South Norfolk Champtionships at the Tas Valley Cricket Club today. The girls played amazingly well and finished 2nd overall, qualifying for the County Finals. Congratulations to them all! Thank you to Mrs Newson for organising the team, and to Mr Bealing and Ms Ladbrooke for driving the minibus.

Saxlingham Cricket Club U11 Training

Saxlingham Cricket Club are starting U11 training for boys and girls in years 5 and 6.

This is open to all students in those year groups and no previous cricket experience is required. Training will be tailored to meet all standards from those who have played before to beginners.

No equipment is required, but children are welcome to bring their own if they have it.

Training will be run by Neil Taylor (Norfolk and level 3 coach), and Andy Chantrill (level 2 coach).

Sessions will run from 6.15-7.45pm from Weds 30th April to 27th August (18 sessions). The first two sessions will be free and if your child enjoys it there will be a charge of £50 for the remaining 16 sessions.

We also hope later in the season to have a number of inter-club/friendly matches.
Numbers will be limited to ensure the quality of coaching so please get in touch asap if interested.

Training is a very sociable event, with bar/BBQ available.

Many congratulations to our under 15 team who finished the season as Champions of their Norfolk Alliance Tier 2 league! A great achievement for this team, that has been together since they were under 9s, to pick up their first piece of silverware 🏆.

Every member of the squad has played a significant role across the season and we look forward to celebrating the team’s victory on Friday afternoon when they play an end of season friendly match at Saxlingham.
