Please remember families can request places from today, Monday 22 June, but bookings will then be confirmed from Thursday 25 June. This gives everyone time to browse activities and request bookings before places are allocated. This process will only apply to the first week when vouchers go out.

Activities are fully funded for eligible children and young people, but many providers also offer paid places, which can be booked directly. Please contact the providers directly for questions about their specific activity.

Scarborough Teenager Turns Life Around Through Free Holiday Programme A fourteen-year-old from Scarborough who was expelled from school has transformed his life and won an international martial arts medal after joining a free holiday activity scheme.

Desapline Martial Arts bring home 13 Gold medals at European kickboxing championships

🥋🏆 What a fantastic day for Desapline Martial Arts at the WKO European Championships in Barnsley! 🏆🥋

Despite taking a smaller team than usual, with just 15 competitors representing the club, our students delivered an incredible performance, bringing home:

🥇 13 Gold Medals
🥈 9 Silver Medals
🥉 4 Bronze Medals

It was a long, hot, and tiring day, and we couldn’t be prouder of every single student who stepped onto the mats. For some, this was their very first competition, and they showed tremendous courage, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day.

Medals are wonderful, but success is also about challenging yourself, learning, and growing. A huge well done to those who didn’t quite get the results they hoped for this time—you represented the club brilliantly and gained valuable experience that will make you even stronger next time.

A massive thank you also goes to all the families who gave up their time to travel, support, and cheer on the team. Your encouragement means so much and helps make days like this possible.

And finally, a special mention to the cutest competitor of the day, little Gabby! ❤️ At just 6 years old, she confidently performed her pattern and proudly earned a silver medal. We couldn’t be more proud of her!

As you know Better Fighter is the competition side of my business that name Better Fighter means more than just winning titles — it represents a system, a mindset, and a commitment to constant improvement. Success doesn’t happen by chance; it comes from a winning structure, discipline, and trust in the process we follow as a team. Seeing one of my students carry the Better Fighter name permanently is a powerful sign of loyalty and belief, not just in the team, but in everything we stand for.
