❤️ A little thank you, and a little reality check… ❤️

First of all, a massive thank you to everyone who has turned up today and supported us, and to everyone coming along this afternoon. Your support, effort and positivity are genuinely appreciated.

Sadly, some people haven’t been able to make it because of the weather forecast. That’s understandable. Nobody can control the weather, and everyone has to make their own decision about whether they feel comfortable travelling.

What I will say, though, is that some of the snide comments, negativity and even laughing emojis being left on our posts are completely unnecessary and, quite frankly, disrespectful.

Let’s make one thing very clear: I don’t have to organise these events. Nobody is paying me to do this, and nobody is forcing me to do it. I choose to do it, and I give up my own time, energy and effort to organise everything because I enjoy bringing people together and creating something for everyone to enjoy.

There is a huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes that people simply don’t see. Planning, organising, preparing, sorting things out and dealing with all the little details takes time. I do all of that voluntarily.

So if you don’t want to come, that’s absolutely fine. If the weather puts you off, that’s absolutely fine too. But laughing at our posts, making snide comments or taking pleasure in people not turning up is not okay.

You don’t have to support what we do, but the very least you can do is show some respect for the people who are giving up their own time to make these events happen.

It’s very easy to sit behind a keyboard and laugh or criticise. It’s a lot harder to actually get off your backside, organise something yourself and give your own time to make it happen.

I’m not going to let a handful of negative people take away from the amazing support we have received. I’d much rather focus on the people who have turned up, supported us and appreciated the effort that goes into today. ❤️

And honestly, this is exactly why I do it. ❤️

So thank you to everyone who has supported us, everyone who has helped and everyone coming along this afternoon. You are the reason we continue to do this.
