Funeral notice for Mr Peter Michael Hillaby Mr Peter Michael Hillaby sadly passed away on Wednesday, 3rd November 2021. Details of the funeral date and arrangements are available here on their Funeral Notice page.

Peter Hillaby’s funeral will take place on Wednesday 24th November.

There will be a procession leaving The Pavillion Hotel, Fulford Road, York at 2.30 pm to the Bishopthorpe Crematorium.

The service will be held at 3pm.

Jan would like you to wear team clothing or any clothing to do with Motorsport if possible.

Refreshments will be provided at The Pavillion Hotel after the service.

The family have requested family flowers only and there will be a collection in aid of The Parkinson’s Charity should anyone like to donate.

On Wednesday 3rd November, former Olivers Mount circuit operator and Auto 66 Club chairman Peter Hillaby sadly passed away.

For years he has been fighting Parkinson’s disease and last Wednesday he lost his long battle against that awful disease.

Peter Hillaby was Road Racing in the UK. He dedicated most of his life to Oliver’s Mount and making sure road racing existed in England. Without him the sport would be in a very different place today.

Thank you to everyone who has sent messages in the last few days.

For now it’s time to grieve and remember him.

Unfortunately the Car and Bike Show this weekend at the Oliver’s Mount Festival of Speed has had to be cancelled.

The hillclimb events will continue to run as per the schedule but due to a lack of uptake from car and bike clubs we have unfortunately had to cancel the displays we had planned.

With a record entry the hill climb is set to be a great event and we look forward to getting racing going again at Oliver’s Mount this weekend.
