Well I needed a few days to let Croft sink in.

On track it was mixed, off track it was insanely good!

A great Saturday and my new personal best lap around Croft Circuit was something I’m very proud of. I’m learning more every time I get in the car with the support of everyone Graves Motorsport. Sunday, well it was all on me. Disappointed not to extract more from a strong qualifying but a spin in a wet race one then the rest without a splitter. A mega start in race two, but again lost the splitter early doors and picked up some track limits penalties.

Off track, in excess of 300 guests over the weekend, 200+ on Sunday. Running our own hospitality is a massive undertaking and something I can’t do on my own. Without Emily Coates, Karen Coates, Rob Coates - Richard, Sharon, John, Bryan, Bryan, Kerry, Sally, Terry, Sarah, Ash, Wendy, Greg, Annie, Robin and Lauren I’d have been totally lost. It might be my vision, but they brought it to life and gave it that personal touch, you guys are awesome and your support helped so much this weekend. Also Bar Events UK for their awesome tipi, Henny’s Kitchen for all of the catering and service, team for their support with everything, specifically Dan, Keith, Linda, Amy, and the Tes’s security team. for his coffee machine too!

I couldn’t do it without my sponsors, great to run staff days for Primex Plastics, and over the weekend as well as guests from .dental .bricks.buildingsolutions

Finally congrats to Sid Smith on his win. Mega mate.

A tough day at Donington Park 💥🤕

Race one ended with a bang whilst in the battle for a podium, I was forced onto the grass and into a spin which resulted in me collecting another car and having to retire with damage, a first for me in the Porsche Carrera Cup.

The team, including a number of helpers, did an amazing job to fix the car in time for race two and it started well, the pace was just coming to me as the safety car came out. Overtaken at the restart, it all went a bit wrong from there, later contact burst the radiator again and meant I had to limp home to the finish which is why my pace was slow in the final laps.

Got to put it behind me, move on, and get ready for Croft! The support from sponsors, fans, friends and family has been amazing again this weekend, as much as the result isn’t anything to be too thrilled about, I’m immensely fortunate to be able to do it, and hugely appreciative of it!

Qualifying has gone well, P6 & P3.

Q1 was shortened after a mid session red flag when we were just about to go for a push lap. The session got restarted with just two laps to go for a time, ending P6.

Q2 we had a proper run of it, my first push lap disallowed meant it was the final lap to make it happen. From the back at that point up to P3, which I’m happy with.

Tomorrow’s action is at 9:40 for race one (live timing via Timing Solutions Limited) and 13.50 for race two (live on ITV4).

Test day at Donington ✅

A good day in the car, a few bits learnt and right in the mix of where we need to be. I think our best Friday (well Thursday) yet, so it bodes well going into the 5th race weekend of the season. Stay tuned on the stories and posts for race times and how to follow.

PORSCHE CARRERA CUP RACE WINNERS 🏆

Converting pole position into a lights to flag victory with fastest lap! 💪

The game plan was all about race two today and we capitalised on it. A good start, pushed on in the first two laps and built a solid gap which I kept to the flag. This win is a true, pure win, getting it from a pole position makes it all the better. A huge thank you to everyone in the team for giving me such a good car to do it. There’s one guy driving the car, there’s maybe 100+ people involved in making it all happen, from mechanics, engineers, team managers, commercial liaison, pit board, wheel and tyre guys, the helpers, sponsors. Thank you! 🙏
