💙⚽️ GET WELL SOON, REX! ⚽️💙

Not quite the start to the new school year our U10s player Rex had planned! 🙈

Just one week back at school and Rex managed to split his head open… and, a bit like Humpty Dumpty, he had to be glued back together again! 🤕😂

Unfortunately, the doctors have told him he needs to stay away from football for a few weeks while everything heals. But that didn’t stop Rex turning up to yesterday’s away match to support his teammates from the players bench. 💙

He didn’t want to let his boys down and wanted to be there cheering them on from the sidelines, which says everything about the kind of teammate he is. 👏⚽️ Your boys will keep your spot warm while you recover!

Everyone at Burton United wishes you a speedy recovery, and we can’t wait to see you back out on the pitch where you belong! 💙⚽️

Great performance from our U11s tonight! 👏

In only their second ever 9v9 game, playing against a team a year older, the players were outstanding from start to finish. Some brilliant football, plenty of chances and some incredible goals! 🔥⚽️

These pre-season friendlies are all about getting minutes in their legs, building confidence and getting the players back into the rhythm of playing together ready for the return of league football, and tonight was a great step in that preparation. ⚽️💪

The biggest positive is seeing how much this group is bonding and developing week by week. Every player worked hard, gave everything and showed just how much potential this team has.
So proud of this group and excited to see what the new season brings!

💙⚽ Wishing our U7 Arthur a speedy recovery! ⚽💙

Poor Arthur has spent the last year coming along to our U6 sessions, learning, developing and getting more and more excited to finally begin his official BUFC journey this season… only to go and break his arm on a zip line just one week before the season starts! 😢

Absolutely rotten timing after waiting so patiently to get started, but football can wait, the most important thing now is getting that arm fixed and making a full recovery. 💙

Don’t worry Arthur, your team will be waiting for you when you’re all mended, and we know you’ll be back on the pitch in your BUFC kit as soon as you can! ⚽💪

⚽️💙 CAN YOU HELP OUR NEWEST LITTLE FOOTBALLERS? 💙⚽️

Due to the huge demand for our new U6 training sessions, we would LOVE to open up even more spaces and give more local children the chance to start their football journey with Burton United! 🙌

But to do that… we need a little more help! 👀⚽️

We’re looking for anyone who might be interested in getting involved, a parent, grandparent, junior coach, former player, or simply someone who enjoys football and would love to help our youngest players get started.

You don’t need to already be an experienced coach. BUFC will support you every step of the way, helping you get started and complete any training or qualifications needed.

We’re a small community club run entirely by volunteers who give their time to make sure local children have the opportunity to play football, make friends, have fun and be part of their community team. 💙

With a little more help, we can welcome even more children into our BUFC family. ⚽️

👟BURTON UNITED BOOT EXCHANGE 👟

We’ve recently been very kindly gifted some spare football boots (many thanks to the McIeish family), which has given us an idea… we’re starting a Burton United Boot Exchange! 💙

As parents ourselves, we know just how quickly children outgrow their football boots, sometimes it feels like they’ve barely worn them before they need the next size! And we also know how handy it can be to have a spare pair for those occasions when boots are soaking wet, covered in mud or have mysteriously gone missing just before training! 🤦‍♀️😂

♻️ HOW IT WILL WORK
👟 Got boots to donate?
If your child has outgrown a pair of football boots that still have plenty of life left in them, we’d love you to donate them to the club so another BUFC player can make use of them.

👟 Need a pair?
Simply speak to one of our coaches or a member of the committee and we’ll have a look at what sizes we currently have available. No cost, no fuss, if we have a pair that fits, they’re yours to use.

🛡️ SPARE SHIN PADS WELCOME TOO!
We’d also really appreciate donations of unused or outgrown good-quality shin pads (not micro, mini or honeycomb). We’ll keep these at the club as spares for those inevitable occasions when someone turns up to training having forgotten theirs!

It’s a simple way of reusing perfectly good football kit, helping fellow club families and making football that little bit more accessible for everyone. ♻️💙

So before those outgrown boots get thrown away or disappear into the back of a cupboard, please consider passing them on to Burton United, another young player might get plenty more matches out of them! ⚽👟

⚽️💙 WE’VE FOUND OUR NEW U6 COACH! 💙⚽️

We’ve been searching high and low for the right person to take on our next intake of BUFC superstars… and up steps Mark! 🙌

Known over the years for his goal scoring ability… and perhaps even more so for his regular injuries 🤕😂, Mark has finally accepted that he might be getting a little too old to play without breaking or pulling something!

So, he’s swapping playing for coaching and is ready to help our youngest players take their very first steps into football. ⚽️🌟

Our new U6 sessions are perfect for children who are starting Reception or Year 1 and would like to get involved, have fun, make new friends and begin their football journey with Burton United FC. 💙
