Match Report:
Epworth made the perfect start, opening the scoring inside the first ten minutes. Tom Steel picked out Robinson with a well-timed through ball, and the striker kept his composure to round the advancing goalkeeper before slotting into the empty net for 1โ0.
The home side didnโt have to wait long for a second. A coming together of bodies in the middle of the Dunscroft box left the ball loose, and Verrechia reacted quickest, finding the back of the net to double Epworthโs advantage.
Verrechia was on target again before the break, and this time there was no shortage of quality about the finish. Picking up the ball around 25 yards from goal, he produced a superbly placed strike into the bottom corner to make it 3โ0 and put Epworth firmly in control.
Dunscroft did manage to pull one back before half-time, giving the visitors some hope of finding a route back into the contest as the sides went in with Epworth leading 3โ1.
Following a number of changes from the home side at the break, Dunscroft enjoyed the better of the early stages of the second half. They began to see more of the ball and pushed Epworth deeper, creating a handful of opportunities without ever seriously testing the Epworth goalkeeper.
A few further tactical tweaks helped shift the balance back in Epworthโs favour, and the home side began to regain control.
Some excellent battling from Epworth in the closing stages increasingly frustrated the visitors, with the game becoming more physical as Dunscroft searched for a way back into the contest. Epworth continued to find space in behind and looked increasingly dangerous on the break.
Eventually, the fourth arrived.
Robinson was once again the man on the end of it, breaking clear and repeating his first-half trick by rounding the goalkeeper before calmly slotting home for his second of the afternoon.
It put the result beyond doubt and rounded off another strong performance from Epworth, who showed plenty of quality in the first half before digging in when required after the break.
