The Belles showed a confident team display in a very windy afternoon on 23/02/25 when they played Bradford City at Selby College.
The opener was scored a minute into kick off when an expertly taken corner from Ruby Oates right winger was cushioned into the Bradford net by midfielder Sophie Treves.
The Belles had a number of other opportunities but on the 12th minute the 2nd goal was scored by Olivia Bell left winger who was assisted by a determined Katy Hornshaw Midfielder.
Again the Belles were relentless with their attacking with Bradford not able to get out of their half and at 18 minutes Belles scored their 3rd from Emily Morton striker when her attacking partner Naomi Dodds laid off the ball for her.
Again pressure continued in the Bradford half and on the 23rd minute a shot from Oates was spilled by the Bradford keeper and Hornshaw neatly converted this for Belles 4th.
Then on the 31 minute the 5th goal netted when Sophie Sedman-Hall midfielder lofted a great ball for Dodds to head home.
At half time the score was Belles 5 - Bradford 0.
The second half and this time going into the wind, the Belles continued to enjoy most of the possession in the Bradford half of the pitch and despite several attacks on the Bradford goal no further goals were created by the Belles, the full time score remained Brayton Belles 5-0 Bradford City U23's.
The player of the match was awarded to Sophie Sedman-Hall for her standout performance, but the whole team congratulated on a great team performance.

Match Report
Brayton Belles were looking for their first win of the season when travelling to Hepworth Utd on 22 September 2024.
The sloping pitch at Hepworth is always a challenge to play on and the Belles chose tactically when winning the toss to play uphill.
The Belles started brightly by passing the ball around well and on the 4th minute Katie ‘Woody’ Parker forced a foul with her quick feet, Woody stepped up to take the free kick and with the goalie unable to control the ball, Ruby Oates followed in and guided the ball into the Hepworth net to open the scoring.
The next 15 mins saw a couple of great goal scoring opportunities for the Belles, when Oates passed a lovely ball into Jess Ward, who returned the ball back to Oates who was fouled just outside the box, attempts on the Hepworth net couldn’t be converted to goals.
Then with a bit of loose defensive work from the Belles, Hepworth crafted a great attack and equalised in the 19th minute, leaving the half time score at 1-1.
The Belles started 2nd half strongly with a couple of early shots on target, there was constant pressure applied to the Hepworth defence and on the 61st minute a Oates cross was converted by Ward. The Belles were galvanised by the 2nd goal and there was opportunities being fired in from all over the team and with some impressive physicality on display it wasn’t long before the Belles scored their 3rd of the game with Woody working hard by passing the ball into the box for Sophie Treves to chip the Hepworth keeper.
The Belles were congratulated on the final whistle the score being 1 – 3 with some great team work on display, player of the match was awarded to Katie Hornshaw.
