It is with great sadness that we share the news that Sid Lamb passed away peacefully this morning, surrounded by his family.
Sid was a former Selby rugby player and, in later years, a generous supporter and sponsor of the club, particularly the girlsβ section. Rugby was a huge part of Sidβs family life: his son Kev is also a former Selby player and now coaches within the mini and girlsβ sections, where Sid's granddaughters have played, Tayla continues to develop and Macey contributed last season. His grandson Jaxon also currently plays for the Under 10s.
Everyone at the club sends their heartfelt condolences and best wishes to his wife Carol, children Claire, Rachel, Kev and Rich, and all of their family and friends.
Funeral details will be shared in due course.

Huge congratulations to our four senior men on outstanding representatives.
Antun Wilson and Jamie Dentith have been selected for the Durham squad and will be in action this weekend in Cumbria.
Harry Tunningley has earned his place in the Yorkshire Menβs squad, while Joe Scholefield, after featuring for the Yorkshire U20s in recent months, has now been selected for the England North U20s divisional assessment day this Sunday.
These selections are a testament to the hard work, commitment, and quality they bring every week. Youβre a credit to the club and thoroughly deserve these opportunities.
Best of luck, lads β weβre all behind you

What a day to finish the season for our women!
The team travelled to Scarborough yesterday for their final match of the season β and they did not disappoint. In a tough game played in even tougher conditions, the women dug deep, showed incredible character, and pulled off a brilliant win.
This result was built on graft, togetherness, and unwavering belief. All season long, this group has shown exactly what it means to represent the Selby name and wear the badge with pride.
From the first game of the season to the final whistle yesterday, theyβve demonstrated the hard work and commitment theyβve been building towards all year. Every coach, supporter, and every player who pulled on a Selby shirt has played a huge part in this success.
Congratulations to our Players of the Match:
β Forward: Chloe Hawe
β Back: Nyah May
β Opposition: Mia Charm
Thank you to everyone involved β a fantastic way to end the season! Once a Swan always a Swan. π¦’β€οΈ π π
