Good evening everyone,

Who would like to give a helping hand this coming Saturday, we had 228 runners on Saturday we just need 10 volunteers out of that amount for our event to take place.

Never volunteered before and you have contemplated it, don’t worry all roles are simple and it is very rewarding to give something back to parkrun.

🦺 Roles available 🦺
• Car park marshal x2 (can run)
• Tail walker
• Funnel manager
• Timekeepers x1
• Parkwalker x2

Thank you

Sally 😀

This is a photo taken last night of the inner sanctum of Selby parkrun. They met secretly to indoctrinate a new RD (Jacqueline Roe) into how to properly manage a parkrun 🤔
Rules for becoming a Selby RD:

Firstly, read emails sent to you
Secondly, buy a round of drinks
Thirdly, shadow another RD in the coming weeks.
Fourthly, complete the Great North Run

Jacqueline (not Jackie 😡) will be a great addition to our team.We wish her well.
The weather looks good for tomorrow morning. 16C with a light WNW breeze.
Once again many thanks to all the volunteers who put their names down really early in the week , making my job easier.
As usual, car drivers please use our car park (not Common Lane) and drive carefully to the parking area, to avoid creating any dust or damaging your vehicle.
Any tourists, please let yourselves known and also let me know of any milestones or shout outs.
Looking forward to seeing you all in the morning.
Garry.

Good evening everyone

Thank you to all the volunteers and please remember we are always looking for volunteers for future events, so please let us know if you’d like to be included.

It’s going to be a slightly cooler than of late so volunteers you may need a 🧥 or jumper, and runners you’ll love have cool it feels.

A reminder to please use our car park 🅿️ off Common Lane, as there is no access from Burn Gliding Club. ✈️.

Wrens will be on site with a selection of hot and cold drinks and snacks, please say hi to Jennie.

If you are celebrating a milestone, or if you are new to parkrun or are travelling from afar. Please let me know and I can give you a shout out.

First timer briefing will take place about 8.50 followed by the safety briefing at 8.55 to set you off on time at 9.00.

Don’t forget your barcode.

See you all in the morning. Tracy.

Selby parkrun 377. The one after the cancelled event due to lack of volunteers.

272 people completed our out and back course with pacers from 20 mins. A special shout out to pacers Paul Hampson 40 mins and Micheal West 33 mins who I failed to mention at brief.

This event is only possible if people give up a run every so often and volunteer. Those special people today are pictured, without them parkrun would just be a run in the park.

Knowing that half attendees won’t see this, we need to make more of volunteering on the morning. Thanks to those that chose to give up a run and support Selby. Top people.

Pete.
