A brilliant season on the field for our teams, and we have been proudly supported by our primary shirt sponsor Flinton’s Landscape Gardening Ltd 🍀

🔴 The 1st XI made the step up to The Championship after last year’s promotion. A solid year, and a mid-table finish to boot. Lots of positives to take into the off-season, along with plenty to work on to keep the team moving forward. This is the highest standard this club has seen for a long time, and everyone to a man has given the very best account of themselves when stepping on to the field 💪

Craig Piggott lead the 1st team with the bat after amassing 1106 runs in all competitions, including a high score of 123 at an average of 48.09. Craig also lead the way in the field with the most outfield catches - 21 of them!👏 Skipper Steve Smith had another brilliant year with the ball, claiming 47 wickets at an average of 15.96 with best bowling figures of 6/9 💪

🟡 The 2nd XI came into this year’s campaign with only one target - promotion. The team played 22, won 20, and lost 2 on their way to claiming the title by a margin of 42 points back to 2nd placed Church Fenton, including a winning run to end the year of 13 games unbeaten! Newly appointed skipper Ben Worley can be proud of how he’s lead the team this year, and becomes the first Drax team in the last decade to win a division title outright 🏆

Luke Edwards lead the 2nd team with the bat scoring 656 runs, a high score of 78, an average of 41, and accumulated 6 50’s 👏 Jack Derham lead the 2nd team with the ball taking 40 wickets overall at an average of 16.32, and best bowling figures of 6/41 👊

🔴 The 3rd XI also had a promotion winning season under their guidance of newly appointed skipper Matty Atkinson, finishing 2nd in the league. It has been truly heartwarming to see our Junior players flourishing and developing on Sundays - with lots of positive performances! The 3rd XI will still look to try help the progression of our junior players as they make the step up in standard.

Ethan Umbo lead with the bat scoring 326 runs at an average of 65.20, while Lewis Hughes lead with the ball taking 16 wickets at an average of 17.75 👏

Kev’s Kranks Fun Day 2026 was one for the books ✅

We want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who attended. Events like this don’t work without participation, and it was really warming to see so many new and familiar faces.

Lots of fun. Plenty of laughs. And a massive amount of money raised for our club 💷

There are lots of unsung hero’s that make days like yesterday happen, and we want to say a huge thank you to you as well. It doesn’t go unnoticed ❤️

The cricket action is officially done for another year. We complete the wrap up with our presentation evening this Saturday 19th 🏆

Today’s the day - it’s Kev’s Kranks fun day! 🏏

Join us for what promises to be a fantastic day of fun and entertainment for everyone! We have our new T10 tournament format between 4 teams as well as raffle prizes, auction, plenty of food, and the bar! 🍺

Join us for what promises to be a brilliant day for all of Drax Village, and help us sign off what’s been another fantastic year both on and off the field ❤️

Both teams finish the season on a high, as both had convincing wins to take home 20 points 🏏

The 1sts were put in to bat after losing the toss. A steady start from both openers saw them reach 133-4 before Afaq came in at number 6 and played a fluent and explosive innings to real kick the scoring on. He finished with a top score of 85 which comprised of 8x4’s and 5x6’s. A day when everyone else chipped in with the bat, the team reached a mammoth 327 runs.

The chase always looked tough for Clifton, and with wickets falling regularly the task only become steeper. Skipper Steve Smith picked up 6/64 to lead the bowling figures and was nicely supported by a 13 over spell from Afaq 1/33 and Billy Turford 2/5 to help finish off the innings, and take home full points for the final game of the season 👏 Mian Afaq Ahmad is the player of the match for his fantastic knock with the bat, and very tight spell with the ball 🤝

The 2nd XI also loss the toss and were asked to bat first. On a tricky wicket, it was very tough going early on with the ball talking for the Ben Johnson bowlers. Some gritty batting from Luke Edwards 28 helped see off the new ball before he fell. At 48-3, calm heads were required. In came the skipper Ben Worley to ease the nerves and make a brilliant 61 in tough circumstances. The innings finished on 173, with the team feeling they had more than enough on the board to defend.

With the ball, the Drax bowlers were relentless with consistently hitting their straps from ball one and never allowing batters to settle. Matty Atkinson was pick of the bowlers for his 5/27 in a brilliant spell that caused no end of problems for the batters. He was also voted player of the match after taking two brilliant catches (when was a sensational one handed diving stunner!) and his fabulous spell with the ball. 👏
