Just wow. What a day. What an incredible swim for our 3rd Bay Swim of the season.

2 swimmers took on the huge challenge of a 2-way bay swim - 1 returning to the challenge for a 2nd year, and the other taking it on for the first time. Going there and back is never going to be easy, and this swim was no exception. With the wind looking great for the return it meant the outbound leg from Bowleaze was rather lumpy bumpy (slight understatement there!). Battling the wind and waves, all their training really paying off, they slogged it out, looking super strong and capable all the way to Pavilion where the first leg ended.

3 more swimmers joined us for the return leg, for their 1-way swim - 1 newcomer, and 2 returning for their 2nd year. Setting off with the wind behind us for a much calmer swim back to Bowleaze, the nerves settled and everyone found their rythm. The group swam so well together, supporting and encouraging each other all the way.

Despite the wind, the water was beautifully clear and warm, and it was absolutely wonderful to see how much everyone has improved over this season, enabling them to totally smash their goals.

A really wonderful swim by all, huge well done ๐Ÿ‘

2 more swimmers completed their Bay swim last week.

We had sunshine interspersed with threatening skies, a gentle tail wind, and some lovely warm and clear water. It was a beautiful day to swim across Weymouth Bay!

One swimmer was back after a couple of years to complete their 2nd Bay swim, while the other was new to the challenge this year. They have both worked super hard on their technique and stamina throughout the season, which really showed on the swim, absolutely smashing the challenge.

I am so proud of you both, you swam so well. Such a huge well done ๐Ÿฉต

The first Bay swim of 2026 happened last week ๐ŸŽŠ

Despite grey skies and an ever increasing wind, they absolutely smashed it. Starting in the calm shelter of the Pavilion, we set off a bit earlier than planned to make the most of the calmest time of the day. With the wind behind us, the chop wasn't too bad and gave an extra little push. The finish got a bit bumpy though, with some fun swell, but nothing that they hadn't already mastered in their training since April.

We had one swimmer returning for her 3rd year, totally exceeding what she had hoped to do this year. The other 2 swimmers had struggled to put thier faces in the water when they joined. They have all worked so hard, showing up week on week, steely determination getting them into the water each time, even if they felt anxiety over conditions or distances. They have shown exactly what it is to be resilient and capable, and what you can acheive when you really want to.

Incredible swimming!! Huge well done to you all, I am so proud of you ๐Ÿฉต

Couch to Bay is going brilliantly and everyone coming to the sessions have been put through their paces recently.

It's nearing the time we start to book in some actual Bay swims so we've been trying to get some continuous swimming in. With varied paces this has meant swimming laps around the buoys, lots of fun. We've had some great training conditions too recently. Who doesn't love a bit of wind over tide?

I can't wait to get this years groups across the bay!

It has been 18 days since I became a Channel Swimmer.

I swam from England to France! It still hasn't properly sunk in, and I am not sure how it ever will really. But what has completely blown me away is the support and generosity of the people around me.

Everyone has a story. I also had a dream. To be able to achieve that dream, while sharing my story, and my sister's, was incredibly special. One of the biggest things that kept me going while I was swimming, was the people believing in me, sending me messages of love, and donating to my chosen charity.

Such a massive thank you to each and every one of you. You have been such a significant part of something that has changed my life forever.

Look at what you have helped me achieve......

ยฃ4744 at the last count (plus gift aid to add on). More than double what I had set out to raise.

Just wow! And thank you, from the depths of my heart ๐Ÿงก
