Our Bernardettes played Sheffield Uni Staff on Wednesday evening, here is the match report from Belle-the captain of the game.
Well done to all the ladies tonight a really good team performance from everyone lead us to a win.
We won the toss and decided to bat in the hopes the pitch would be less slippery later on.
Rio and Tracey started the batting off well both getting 4s, Claire and Charlie kept scoring nicely in the next pair. Belle and Leila came on next and put the score up a lot. Marsha and Fruity came on as the last pair putting on a nice score on of 281 and Fruity playing a nice front foot drive 4 up the hill.
A strong bowling attack kept Sheffield University Staff down to 272 with wickets going to Belle and Leila with a catch from Tracey.
Well done to everyone a very strong team effort. Girl of the game goes to Leila for her excellent bowling performance.

Monday night saw the second year of the Bradbridge Ashes - an annual friendly between Bradfield and Oughtibridge juniors.

This year’s game was made up of predominantly U10s with the odd U8 and U9 included.

Oughtibridge won the toss and chose to bowl. They started strongly, pinning our first two pairs of batters back and taking a few wickets. However, our second two pairs managed to get hold of their bowlers and put a good charge on for us to finish on 261/6.

Our bowlers made an immediate impact as well, taking a few early wickets and restricting Oughtibridge’s batters. We continued in this vein, taking wickets all the way through the innings, keeping them to a low total, finishing on 235/8.

Bradfield retain the trophy!

Well done to all the Bradfield players, and also U8 Will who played for Oughtibridge with them being a player short.

On Sunday, Harrison awarded the Bradfield Brewery Player of the Match to Zac Harby for his bowling performance.

Hanry Harris was awarded the Bradfield Brewery Player of the Match on Saturday for his batting and bowling.

The Bernardettes are at home today against Pen*stone for their next softball game.
