🏒 Berkshire Bulldogs Ball Hockey Club competed in the Ball Hockey UK T3 morning game day, playing 6 games.

1️⃣ The Bulldogs opened against Stanley Stingers, who eventually finished 6th out of 7. Despite strong efforts, neither side could find the net, resulting in a 0–0 draw.

2️⃣ Game 2 saw the Bulldogs face South Wales Reivers, who went on to win the game day with 11 goals scored overall. A resilient defensive performance kept the Reivers at bay, earning another 0–0 draw.

3️⃣ In Game 3 against Humberside Havoc, the Bulldogs conceded their only goal of the tournament in the final moments. An end-to-end contest saw plenty of chances, but the Bulldogs were unable to mount a comeback, falling to a narrow 1–0 defeat.

4️⃣ Game 4 against the Hyenas brought the Bulldogs their first win. A great offensive play from Oliver Warren who entered the zone and kept possession until he found Thomas Adams at the back door, who finished top shelf. A well-worked team goal.

5️⃣ The fifth game against Nottingham Nemesis was a must-win to keep first place hopes alive. The Bulldogs delivered, with two snipes from defenceman Simon Phillips securing a 2–0 victory.

6️⃣ The final game against Long Eaton Lightning historically a tough opponent saw the Bulldogs make it three wins in a row. Goals from Sam Phillips (Adams, Garbur) and Oliver Warren (S. Phillips) sealed another strong performance.

With standings decided in the group stage, the Bulldogs’ impressive effort, conceding just one goal all tournament earned them a second-place finish for the second consecutive event.

🥈 3 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss meant the South East side narrowly missed out on a Tier 3 playoff spot.

Last Saturday saw the bulldogs host their first Draft Tournament and Junior Game.

It was a great turnout with the Red, Bulldog populated team winning the final penalty shootout!

🧒 Congrats to the juniors, Orange team who won the game and Turquoise who won the shootout!

🔴Congrats to Red Team who won the tournament in the finals penalty shootout with a strong performance all day! Winning 2 and drawing 1 in the group stage.

🤝 Congrats to Tom Benson who came away as Tournament MVP.

🥅 Thank you to the goalies who were subbing in left right and centre to make sure every team had a goalie and to Dyls for sticking around to help out after the junior game! And to Izzy and Abi and Edward Ransom who played the entire junior game and draft tournament and their Mum Jenny for being my personal assistant and helping with the scoresheets and stop clock, and to Callum for playing the junior game, running the sheets, clock and even reffing at the same time! And finally to Josh for coaching/reffing the juniors and playing a lot of draft games.

🏟️ Apologies for the dampness issues and the impact this had on reformatting the final game but I had to make a safety call! I will be reporting to the hall staff and looking for an alternative venue until fixed to save me doing laps of the hall during games hopping on a towel.

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒Any 16+ players who do not have an official ball hockey team - please reach out to me as you would be more than welcome to join a team in the South East League (14th March and 25th April game days) and any u16’s to reach out about joining Ealing Eagles junior squad!

🧳 And anyone who fancies the trek - many of the players across the teams today play for my united Berkshire Bulldogs team who compete in Sheffield - these are very competitive games and are well worth the travel + I’m head coach so I’d be your boss for the day.

‼️ Please keep an eye out for future posts on the Berkshire Bulldogs Facebook/instagram for future tournaments - I am arranging for another junior/draft event in May and my yearly Charity Tournament is being worked out for the 28th of June - still confirming both though.
