A brand-new recreational women’s football session, for all ages (16+) and all abilities. Wednesday In partnership with Sheffield & Hallamshire CFA.
Launched in August 2021, the sessions aim to provide a fun environment for women to learn to play football and have fun, whilst getting some great exercise. The games are played on sand-dresses AstroTurf pitches, so wearing trainers is fine, but football boots (no metal studs) are great too. The venue:

Ability
All abilities catered for, from people who have never kicked a ball before, to more experienced players. What to expect
Each session consists of approx. 20 minutes of drills, where we learn passing, shooting etc, then we’ll divide you into teams and a match for approximately an hour. What to wear
Wear what you’d usually wear to go for a run, it is all outdoor, so in the winter it can be cold so bring some layers, then you can take them off once you start running and get warm. Trainers are fine, but if you have football boots, they’re great too, but no metal studs please, only ones suitable for AstroTurf. Getting there
Please see the map, the venue is new and some of the entrance is still being built, but there is a car park that is just a short walk to the pitches. You can drive in and park up then just walk down the path to the pitch. Cost

What else do I need to know? This is a brand new venture, but the plan is to eventually build up enough players to run 3 sessions (7pm, 8pm & 9pm) with a session for beginners, intermediates and then more experienced players, so if you’re worried about your ability, fear not and come and have fun. All the women who play are really friendly and supportive, so you have nothing to fear, even if you’ve never played before.
