Abbeydale vs Seven hills

Abbeydale win toss and elected to bat. Adeeb Khan picked up from where he left from last week. He took control of one end and kept the score ticking nicely. After losing 2 wickets and 140 on board. He asked for power play only to get out on the 2nd ball 66. Afraz Khan then entered the field, home debut. He had shahid Ali's words ringing in his ears and went to smash 54 off 24 balls.

Tufail and Sarkab chipped with with 32 and 25, taking the score to 244. Haseeb 2 wickets, Ibrar 4 wickets.

Seven Hills come out trying to keep up with the required run rate and were scoring well. Sheraz 27, sajid 32, and sajid Azad 49 but afraz khan's innings proved the difference. Seven Hills finishing on 183. Shoib taking 2 wickets, awais 2.

Alfatah vs Sheffield Future

Al fateh vs Sheffield Future, a promising match on display with a turning green wicket. Al fateh won the toss and without hesitation bowled first.

Sheffield Future managed 113 on a turning wicket thanks to Shezad Shah making 29 and also small cameos from Zayn Wasim and Mohammed Tariq. The pick of the bowlers for Al fateh was Ihtisham Ali with 6 wickets for 19 runs in his 6 overs.
Al fateh came out looking to chase down the score by playing their shots. Discipline bowling from Naseem Khan and Ali Shah was what gave Sheffield Future the win. Naseem Khan 6 overs for 14 runs with 3 wickets. Ali Shah 6 overs for 20 runs with 3 wickets. Sheffield Future winning by 9 runs with a run out on the last wicket which ended up with Al Fateh all out for 104.

Alison law vs Royal Strikers

Finally some cricket at Bawtry road and what a game it turned out to be; sunny rajeeb taking the first pivotal turn by winning the toss and putting royal strikers in to bat; royal strikers making 115 all out; top scorer rafique Shan with 28; some outstanding fielding from Bilal imtiaz and Shoaib Hassan taking 3-22; with good support bowling from Shezaad; Alison law started well with a blissful 26 from waqas but on a difficult wicket runs were very hard to come by; Alison law steadying the ship on many occasions but losing wickets regularly; needing 15 runs from 4 overs with 3 wickets in hand; some steady batting from zafran and Danish as always winning the game in style for Alison Law; last years champions were humbled;

Kashmir x1 vs Khuram x1
After winning the toss Khurram x1 put Kashmir in to bat first bad decisions as Mobasher smoked 80 of 40 balls and then captain billy scored 88 not out towards the back end of the innings to take the total to 223 for the loss of 7 after 30 overs 102 runs coming in only sizers pick off the bowlers was Kieron with 6 overs for 41 runs and 3 wickets in reply Khurram x1 only managed 174 50 runs short all out navid scoring 41 and yousuf scoring 54 pick off the bowlers was shummzy Azam 6 overs 3 wickets for 40 runs and taz George 6 overs 20 runs for 2 wickets and big thanks to Shaid Ali for umpiring also make the ground fit for us to have a game on keep it the good work.

Well done Shahid Ali for getting a game on there. Least Zabe will be quiet for a bit. He would have killed us both had their game been called off.

Allama Iqbal Sunday Cricket League, Season 2023 is here and we have some exciting news.

In line with the Captains request, we now have 2 groups, Shaheen and Ghauri.

Season 2023 will be based on the PSL format, with a Super Final. As requested, by the Captains, 30 overs and red ball cricket.

We thank all the Captains, our sponsor Alison Law Solicitors and Gareth Davis from the YCB for their continued support to Allama Iqbal Sunday Cricket League and grassroots cricket. Good luck to everyone involved.

The Season will start on 30th April 2023 after taking into consideration when Eid will possibly fall this year.
