U9s Cup Semi Final
Brunsmeer Reds vs Charnock Ridgeway
Brunsmeer Reds returned to Grindleford for their semi‑final clash playing under bright sunshine on a pitch made bobbly by the week’s good weather. Brunsmeer started sharply, applying pressure from the first whistle. Their early breakthrough came after strong work from Alpha, who slipped a clever pass through for George S to drive a finish into the net on the run. The Reds kept the momentum, with George W working tirelessly down the right, delivering dangerous crosses and striking the post with a long effort. Thomas impressed on the right side of defence, starting attacks with composed passing. The lead doubled when George S’ powerful shot was parried by the Charnock goalkeeper, only for Seb to react quickest and slot home from close range.
The second half saw Brunsmeer continue to play with confidence and teamwork. Lawrence made key interceptions and linked play well down the left, while Antoni broke up Charnock’s attacks with smart positioning. Edward played an important role at the back, finding midfielders and forwards with accurate passes. The third goal arrived when George S threaded a long ball through to Seb, who finished first time with a calm, low strike. Charnock pushed back with several long‑range efforts, but Henry stood firm, making important saves to protect the lead. Brunsmeer managed the game professionally to the final whistle. A strong performance across the pitch sends the Reds into next Sunday’s final, the last game of the season and one to look forward to.

Good result this morning. Lots of good possession in the first half and quite a few chances created but just the one taken from Tommy D. Second half we dropped our level slightly and ended up having too many touches and losing the ball. Finally got the 2nd from Freddie to effectively seal the result. Freddie then completed his hat trick with 2 clinical finishes.
MOM was Thomas.

High Green Villa v Brunsmeer Reds
Under 9’s Cup
Brunsmeer Reds travelled to St George’s Park at High Green for a 9:30 cup kick‑off against High Green Villa and started the game with real intent. Early pressure saw Edward rattle the post and several other chances go close as the Reds settled quickly. The breakthrough came midway through the first half when Antoni picked out George W on the right; he took a clean touch, drove forward, and fired a powerful strike high into the net. Brunsmeer continued to control the tempo, moving the ball well and keeping Villa pinned back for long spells.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Brunsmeer pushing for a second. Thomas tested the goalkeeper repeatedly from long range, while at the back Alpha stayed composed, reading danger and breaking up attacks. When Villa did break through, Henry produced an excellent save down the left to protect the lead. As the game moved into its final moments, George Sanderson unleashed a long‑range effort that the keeper could only parry onto the poat and Seb reacted brilliantly, taking a couple of calm touches before passing the rebound into the empty net to seal a deserved win for the Reds.

Kiveton Park FC U9s v Brunsmeer Reds U9s
Brunsmeer Reds travelled to Kiveton Park on a cold, windy morning wearing their yellow change kit, and the spectators were treated to a pulsating high scoring draw.
Despite starting very well, Brunsmeer found themselves 0–2 down, but they showed real character to fight back. Seb pulled one back from close range after a well weighted pass from the right from George West. Huge celebrations then erupted when Thomas stepped out from defence and smashed in a brilliant long‑range strike for his first ever Brunsmeer goal. The Reds kept pushing and soon took the lead when George West threaded a pass from the right to Edward, who struck home strongly from the edge of the box. Kiveton then responded with two goals before half‑time, but Henry produced several important saves to keep Brunsmeer in the game.
The second half began with more positive play from Brunsmeer, Lawrence went close from the left and Antoni and Alpha were a strong defensive pairing, cutting out attacks and organising well. After Kiveton added another, Brunsmeer hit back again through George West, finishing calmly from Seb’s accurate cross. Moments later the same pair combined, allowing George West to unleash a longer‑range effort to level the score once more. As the game entered its final minutes, Brunsmeer pushed hard and were rewarded when George Sanderson struck firmly from distance, with the ball going in off the post to give the Reds a late lead. But in the dying moments, a high long range Kiveton effort was initially saved before an unfortunate bounce carried it over the line, bringing the match to a dramatic drawn finish.
A breathless, end‑to‑end contest full of effort, goals and determination from both sides, with Brunsmeer showing real spirit throughout

U15s Vs Ecclesfield Spartans
Really good team performance today. The first half we moved the ball really well and created numerous chances. 2 great strikes from Eli and a fine team goal finished by Tommy gave us a 3-0 HT lead.
In the second half further goals from Pete, Tommy and Freddie saw us finish up 6-2 winners. Thought everyone made good & positive contributions to the team but for me Tommie G was MOM.
Thanks to all the helpers and well done to all the Boys.
