👉We are happy to announce we are running 2 Wildcat sessions for the new school year of 22/23 in partnership with Grassroots Club of the Year Hallam Rangers!

Our Monday sessions will be returning first & Thursday sessions after October Half Term. Please see the information on the flyer below.

Our sessions are specifically designed for girls aged 5-11 to be the best environment to fall in love with the game and develop a lifelong love for sport and activity. Our sessions are more than just football sessions.

📚When one chapter ends another one begins 📖

⚙️From the work I have done with Barnsley football academy I have learnt so much about my own practice and approach.

📈This time has taught me how to be a cog in the system to positively effect long term player development in sport.

Here are 3 key learnings I will take forward:

🔺Communication is the fundamental pillar to Physiotherapy
And optimising performance. You need to be able to adapt it to suit the style of the environment. 🎧And also communication isn’t just talking !

🔺Keeping injury free and psychologically strong is optimising player performance. As a physio do not wait for injuries to occur. The human body is a incredible toolkit let’s use it to our advantage and prevent rather than intervene.

🔺Always bring your best. In a high performance environment you have to always strive to do better and be better. Continued Self development and education is key.

📣 🗣The secret is Out 🗣📣

After a crazy and stressful last few months I can confirm that I will be relocating to DUBAI with my partner in mid august ‼️🇦🇪

Vertex will have a new HQ and I cannot wait to see where this takes me and VERTEX.

Moving country sounds glamorous but trust me it’s been one the most stressful and mentally taxing thing I have done. From fully decorating my flat ready to be rented , moving out , job hunting , working , living out of boxes, trying to have a social life , train and running vertex it’s been a bit crazy. Hence the sporadic engagement on my socials.

As I say in life you need to take the risk so you don’t lose the chance. Moving abroad and seeking to see some of the world is on my bucket list. So here goes.

Even though it’s hard to see this right now : this will be the best test I’ve put myself through. Whatever happens I’ll be better for it.

The cave we fear holds the treasure we seek. I can’t wait for this journey

🗣 Prevention Rather Than Intervention is a common phrase I use within my Physiotherapy practice.

❓Should you only got to physio when you are injured or the pain has got that bad you can’t cope ❓

🔮Rehab,injury and pain are complex and there is no one quick fix🪄

📍🧭However, what can help is a clear plan to navigate rehab and a programme that looks to develop you from a 360 degree lense (VERTEX 360 ° 😉) so we can use rehab as a window of opportunity to prevent future issues arising 🙏

With all the athletes and individuals I work with I really try to work with them in giving them the tools and knowledge to do things to optimise their future performance so they can maintain being injury / pain free in the future.

📌Over the last/next several weeks I am doing 3 sport and activity health days at 3 primary schools in Sheffield.

🗣I will be speaking with them about the power of sport and activity and how this can help prevent physical , psychological and social injury and illness in the future.

🗣An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Let’s start doing this work at a younger age and prevent issues from arising.

📈At our coaching sessions we actively speak to children about biopsychosocial health and well-being. We get them to reflect on there current state and work them to move understanding what areas across their physical , social and psychological constructs.

💭I thought for a long time to separate my coaching and physio platforms. But I haven’t.
Why ?

🥅Because the goal remains the same : To coach and educate people that our development , health , pain , performance and rehab is not all physical and we have the tools to control it.

🌟This is why it is so important.

🌟1 hour a week and you get messages this like.

The reason why I haven’t split my physio and coaching is business is that my values and philosophy in my coaching is so aligned. Good physiotherapy is effective coaching.

When we think of Childrens health and well-being we automatically think it falls under the schools jobs to worry about that. But should it ?

Councils , The NHS and the education system alongside sporting NGBs all have a role to play but no one is leading it. However, the new PE national curriculum is promising with the implementation of physical literacy and holistic development of children. Something I have been calling for for nearly 10 years !

Anyway I’m going on, but as a physio I feel like I need to follow our Mantra which is an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure and create positive introductions to sport and activity for the foreseeable for every child who comes into our coaching programme. We need to create generations that value health and well-being from a biopsychosocial standpoint.
