Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park junior parkrun

As we look to fill this weekend's roster, we still have a number of roles that need some volunteers.

We are looking for the following;

Warmup leader (can be shared by another role)
Barcode scanner
Timekeeper
12 Marshals
Tail Walker.

Well what a brilliant morning for our latest junior parkrun event as we welcomed 44 young people, of which 7 were visiting us for the first time and 4 were doing there very first junior parkrun, thanks for choosing Sheffield Olympic to start your parkrun journey 👏👏

This weekend is a special celebratory weekend for parkrun achieving its millionth completed event so a massive well done to all the various teams all around the world putting on these events 👏🍾🎉

There were 11 PB’ s achieved today well done to all those 👏👏

We had some brilliant milestones achieved too and we gave out a half marathon wristband to Joyce before the start 👏👏

Special mention to one our Co Event Directors Arif who celebrated getting to his 250th day of volunteering thanks from all the SOLP team for everything you do for our event 👏👏

Thanks to all our fantastic volunteers without whom we cannot put on our great event if you wanted to give it a try any upcoming weeks please let us know

The course is inspected and set up, we have a few cars that are currently parked half on the footpath that we will try and get moved or if not we will marshal it closely

As we look ahead to our next great junior parkrun event on this millionth parkrun celebration weekend, our roster is starting to look a little healthier but we do still have availability for the following roles;

Static marshals x 6-8
Timekeeper x1 (although we will continue with 1 only if required)

If you are able to assist us for an hour please drop us a note and don’t forget that after our junior parkrun there is a load of FREE activities that you can all try out in the park provided by the Olympic Legacy in Action team/staff

As we look ahead to our next great junior parkrun event please note that following our completion there is the chance to take part in a multitude of FREE activities as part of Olympic Legacy in action
These will be setting up as we hold our junior event and all these activities will be available from 11:00am if anyone wants to give them a try
Please try something new to see if you might like it and support the staff involved in organising these events
