Sheffield Chess & Education Centre

We’re expecting to run a 9-round Round Robin tournament at a city centre venue in Sheffield from July 6th - July 10th. This will be valid for IM norms and runs alongside another prestigious event due to be announced shortly.

We are looking for titled players (IM or above, preference for non-ENG federation to assist with the nationality requirement) and we are currently accepting applications from norm seekers who are either:

• FIDE 2200+, or
• FMs

This requirement may be relaxed later, once we are sure we have the correct opponent mix.

Message for details (accommodation and reasonable conditions for IM/above are available) about entry fees for norm seekers.

Final call for players with a connection to Sheffield: we’re hosting the annual-ish Crabb Shield tomorrow.

12pm start. 6 rounds of 15 10. £10 entry, cash prizes. Amount depends on entries.

ECF membership required or you’ll have to pay the ECF’s PTP fee.

Ideally let me know in advance if you’re coming, but if not, you can enter on the day any time up to about 11.55am.
