Men's A late summer - division 2 champions

Just like the mixed, the Men's A late summer team were unbeaten finishing with 20 points. Some key victories at Bamford & Ridgeway on the road. With only one rubber dropped all season!

A really solid & fun season for all players. A really ace team spirit & very enjoyable experience with some excellent performed matches👏 🙌

MIixed division 3 champions

The summer mixed went unbeaten all season in division 3. Some excellent team efforts with huge victories at Beauchief & Grove on the road. Excellent season throughout and fantastic achievement.

2024 Year of the Graves 🏆🏆🏆

A remarkable season for 3 of our teams in 2024, which saw the men's A, the summer mixed & men's late summer A team be crowned all champions of they're respected divisions.

Men's A team - Division 3 champions

The men's A were division 3 champions after being undefeated in 7 matches Including wins against Dore & Totley B, Doncaster B, Fulwood B, Grove B, Beauchief C & Abbeydale A ( conceded )

After losing the first two fixtures the group showed strong character & togetherness by overcoming some difficult challenges. A truly excellent effort from all.

Monday evening team practice (6.00-9.00pm)

Tuesday social tennis (6.00-9.00pm)

Saturday social tennis (2.00-5.00pm)

Additionally, we compete in the Sheffield and District LTA leagues, run box leagues and annual tournaments among members.

2022-2023 Winter Tournament

This was our tenth winter tournament where our members come together and compete for the Bob Teasdale Trophy on the indoor courts at Graves Health and Sports Centre.

We changed the format slightly this year still playing doubles tennis throughout but implementing an American Tournament style which requires mixed pairings, as we had more men than ladies taking part this resulted in some of the guys playing as ladies, this was taken in good spirit as the chosen ones settled into their roles playing as ladies for their time on court.

We had the usual thirty-two players all playing just over ninety minutes of tennis, with time off court to socialise and enjoy the buffet made up by contributions from all our participants, with no charge to enter the food offerings are always very generous. After the tennis our Chair Jane Willis presented trophies to our winners Ian Dungworth and Helen Griffiths and runners Mell Thirkell and Geoff Waddilove. Presentations were also made to the winners and runner ups of this year’s knockout tournaments.

We would love to see more of our members entering the The Sheffield and District annual tournamnet 12th to 18th June. This is a local tournament resticted to player within the Sheffield and District area. There are opportunities for all standards to join in with open and handicapped singles and doubles events.
