๐ Hathersage CC v South Wingfield CC
A much-changed Hathersage side took to the field at Baulk Lane on a glorious afternoon, with South Wingfield winning the toss and electing to field first.
Hathersage made a solid start through Kevin Overton and Adam Cornes, who added 63 for the first wicket before two quick wickets briefly slowed progress. Rupert Pearson then took control with a superb 68 from just 62 balls, striking 13 fours and a six.
Joined by Ben Somerton, the pair put together the match-defining partnership of 144 for the third wicket. Pearson eventually fell with the score on 207, while Somerton accelerated brilliantly to finish unbeaten on 66 from 49 balls. Wasim Aslam added a quick 12* from five deliveries as Hathersage closed on 223-3 from 40 overs.
For South Wingfield, Charlie Hamilton, Nick Marshall and Max McCallum claimed a wicket apiece, while Isla Stewart impressed with an outstanding spell of 5-0-8-0.
In reply, Hathersage's bowlers quickly seized control. On his senior league debut, 13-year-old Rowan Carr produced an excellent opening spell, removing Stuart Gibbs, Tom Bond and Lemmie Cox to leave South Wingfield struggling at 34-3.
Kyrie-Anna Shelton top-scored with 36 and Matt Govan added 31, but disciplined bowling from Hathersage never allowed the visitors to build momentum. Rehaan Wasim and Zulfiqar Ali were particularly economical, conceding just 35 runs from their combined 16 overs while taking two wickets.
South Wingfield finished on 137-6 from their 40 overs, giving Hathersage an 86-run winning draw.

Hathersage won the toss and elected to bat first, a decision that paid off as they posted 277 all out from 42.2 overs.
The innings was built on a superb opening partnership between Steve Askew (81) and George Fox (104). The pair added 151 for the first wicket, laying a platform that put the opposition under pressure from the outset.
Fox went on to make a well-crafted century, while Askew provided excellent support with a patient 81. After the dismissals of the top order, Noori Qayoom changed the tempo dramatically, blasting 51 from just 17 balls, including six fours and four sixes, to propel Hathersage towards a formidable total.
Despite claiming three wickets each, Andrew Mitchell (3-64) and Oliver Taylor (3-53) could not prevent Hathersage from reaching 277.
In reply, the chase never gained the momentum required to threaten the target. Early wickets left the batting side behind the required rate, with Noori Qayoom (2-29 from 10 overs) and Houjatullah Mullahkhil (1-7 from 7 overs) applying relentless pressure.
Oliver Thompson (40), Mark Walsh (49 not out) and Matt Coope (23 not out) offered resistance, but the innings closed on 201/5 from 45 overs, leaving the side 76 runs short.
Key Performances

* Steve Askew: 81 (99)

๐๐๐Team Of The Week๐๐๐
The โ๏ธ was out and that clearly seemed to have an impact on this weeks batting.
Some good performances all round, mentions must go to 13 year old Rowan Carr making his senior league debut returning figures of 3-23.
BUT the star player of the week goes to young George Fox with an outstanding innings of 104 for the 1st XI.
Well batted young man. ๐

Hathersage 2โs v Hollinsend 3โs
Following last weeks battling draw at Baslow there was clearly room, and the need for improvement. The weather did itโs bit, bathing Baulk Lane in glorious sunshine. Toss won (yes, you read that correctly) the only option was to bat on flat but slightly tacky looking surface. Patience was going to be key in posting a winning total.
Despite losing Sohail in only the second over Hutchinson and Overton took the shine off the new ball with solid batting and putting anything loose away. Just shy of the half way mark Overton (29) lost his off stump bringing Wasim to the crease. By now the hot weather was starting to take its toll on the fielding side, allowing Wasim to punish some loose bowling whilst giving impetus to Hutchinsonโs cautious start.
Hutchinsonโs departure for 62 brought Somerton to the middle under ideal circumstances for him and he quickly got into his work taking the total past the 150 minimum expected. But when Wasim (29) fell the lower middle order followed quickly leaving Somerton to manage the tail.
Hamaad and Rehaan held their own, chipping in with useful runs and allowing Somerton (35*) to take the total to a satisfactory 192-9 at close.
In reply Hollinsend were soon in trouble with both Suleman and Hamaad taking an early wicket apiece. A second clatter of wickets followed leaving Hamaad with tidy figures of 4-26, Suleman 2-14 and Matt OโBrien with an early candidate for catch of the season.
At 24/6 the task of getting the outright win fell to the youth in the side. Both Cornes (1-17) and Rehaan (2-24), despite not quite hitting the mark from the off soon began to ask the right questions of the tail. Both Raza and Parkin batted sensibly but being forced to play shots was always going to create chances. And unlike the previous week the chances were taken.
Raheel (1-4) took over from Cornes and within a few overs the contest was concluded, with Raheel celebrating his first wicket for the club like an Arsenal fan winning a free kick for offside!
Maximum points and an excellent performance, especially after the previous week.

1st XI Match report away vs Holmesfield.
A glorious day for cricket as Hathersage 1st XI took the short journey to Holmesfield to try and get back to winning ways. Unfortunately we came away the wrong side of the result.
Holmesfield 2nd XI secured a hard-fought win over Hathersage 1st XI after successfully chasing 213 in 43.4 overs. Hathersage posted a competitive 212-7 from their 45 overs, with Rahmanullah Mohammadullah top-scoring with 44, while William Siddall (38), Noori Qayoom (39) and Steve Askew (35) all made valuable contributions. Martin Somerton added an unbeaten 28 late on to help push the visitors past 200.
Holmesfieldโs bowlers shared the wickets around in a disciplined performance. Nick Crapper was the standout, returning excellent figures of 2-25 from 10 overs, while Albie Pearson, Samuel Parker, Oscar Westby, Joseph Davey and Russ Walch all picked up a wicket apiece.
In reply, Holmesfield reached 215-6 with eight balls to spare. James Rhodes led the chase with a composed 43, while Russ Walch anchored the innings superbly with an unbeaten 42. Ben Thornton-Walker added 24 at the top of the order, and useful contributions from Albie Pearson (18), Oscar Westby (13) and Samuel Parker (12*) guided Holmesfield over the line. Martin Somerton impressed for Hathersage with 4-31, but Holmesfield held their nerve to complete the chase and claim victory.
