LOVE emails like this one:
"Hi Will, I just wanted to say thank you…again and again…for the change your fear of heights course triggered in me five years ago. The stuff I have done since then and particularly the walks I have been able to complete have been fantastic, for example Ruta del Cares in Spain last week. Keep doing what you’re doing, transforming lives."

Just home following a family holiday to France, including four days in the Alps. These pictures are from the two days on the local Via Ferrata. Bloody amazing days out, super safe, but my God, I was petrified.
I've been running Fear of Heights courses for more than 23 years now, and so this might seem a strange thing to say. But, even though I was petrified, I was also able to totally keep my s**t together.
I knew that the big air and all that exposure was a massive visual cue to my brain to be scared. The rock was polished and slippery in places. My hands were wet and sweaty. Some of the moves were a bit technical and awkward. These were the kinaesthetic inputs firing my brain's fear response.
But I knew all this. So even though at an emotional level I was in bits, at a rational level, I was able to keep it all together. I was able to focus on my movement and on keeping myself safe. I kept an eye on my kids, in particular Harry, my youngest, making sure he was always clipped on. Always checking in on them and making decisions about the route and the ongoing plan.
I was able to do this because I could maintain the headspace to keep my focus, knowing it was all totally safe.
And even though I was constantly saying to myself "WTF are you doing!?" each night I went to bed buzzing!
Since 2003, we've been helping people overcome their fear of heights. We're really good at what we do, and one reason for that is because we have all been there and felt exactly the same.
If you're struggling to manage your fear of heights, look us up.

When people ask when's the best time to overcome their fear of heights, the answer, I tell them, is 10 years ago. The second best time to overcome your fear of heights is NOW.
New dates and courses have now been added to the website Will4Adventure.com. Limited spaces still available for July's courses too.
Come and check us out. (It might even be fun ...)

For the sixth year running it has been my pleasure to work with Chapter 2 organising their annual Father's Day Challenge: this year an epic 50 mile hike through the Peak District.
And what made the day especially poignant and special for me was having my son Patrick join me. We walked from dawn, through dusk, and had the best day!
A great day with some super people, raising money for a great cause!

Next week, my son and I are attempting to walk 50 miles inside one single day, to raise funds for Chapter2. (That's 50 miles together, not 25 miles each. No sleep, just 50 miles in one go). Please will you sponsor us?
Here's the background ...
Writing Hope into a Fatherless Story
I have three wonderful kids, and two of those are boys. They have a dad in their lives. They also have uncles, cousins, a grandpa, sports coaches and some brilliant music teachers. I’m blessed, and my kids are blessed too.
It breaks my heart, but some lads out there simply don’t have those positive male role models in their lives.
Approximately 2 million children in the UK have no meaningful contact with their fathers. Many boys are growing up in “Men Deserts” and are left to discover masculinity for themselves and 76% of young people in custody had an absent father. (Source: Centre for Social Justice)
So my lad Patrick and I will be attempting to walk 50 miles inside one day, in aid of a super charity called Chapter2. Chapter2 provide long-term and dedicated 1-2-1 male mentors for fatherless boys.
And the day we’ll be attempting to walk this mammoth walk? On Father’s Day. (Actually we start the day before FD and will finish on Father's Day).
Please do sponsor us. We’ve both been training for this, and quite honestly I really don’t know if I can still walk 50 miles in a day (ten years since I last did it) and Patrick has never walked anything like that far in his life.
Your sponsorship would mean so much.
(And to Dave – one of my lad’s brilliant football coaches, thanks. Thanks for telling the lads they need to get fit in their own time. Because that is when Patrick asked if I could take him for a run. And that, was the beginning of this challenge, plus many miles and hours with my son. Dave, thank you for being a lovely man).

I'm a dad, and I am blessed with two sons. (I might even go as far to say, that they are blessed to have me too!) Masculinity and men, is a subject that is close to my heart. This is a super article written by Chapter2, a charity Will4Adventure has been supporting and working with over these past 6 years or so. Have a read and let me know what your thoughts are?

This is a brilliantly written article on fear, by Natalie, a vicar and trained actor and who is a graduate of our Fear of Heights course. Let us know your thoughts!
