We are short a couple of marshals for the race after some folk had to drop out. In exchange for helping on the day you’ll get a goody bag, t shirt and access to a guaranteed spot for the next race - ideal if you didn’t manage to grab one this year. Not been to Steel City before? Here’s a few bits about the Biggest little race!

🌲- started in 2011 as a partnership between Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust and local legend Steve Peat
🚲 - THE race event of the year, for locals and pros alike
🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 - for the community, by the community - organised by volunteers
💷 - raising money for the Wildlife trust and local trails, dig deep, donate, buy merch!
🍻🍕🍰 - the finest food and drink from local vendors
🎉🍾🔉 - party vibes only, tunes, hecklers and cowbells

We’ll post further info and spectator details as we build up to race day and build that hype for another banging day in the woods!

Steel City at Greno needs some TLC in preparations for the steelcityseries race in September.

We’re heading up on Thursday 16th from 6pm, can you come along and help too?

We’re making a start on the strimming and tidy up in preparation for steelcityseries in Sept.

This means that on Tues 7th and Thurs 16th, the bombhole and other sections of the Steel City track at Greno may be closed while we work on them.

Watch this space, we’ll have a sign up for people to come and join in on Thurs 16th!

Exhibitors/Trade Stands/Caterers

If you want a spot in the bomb hole displaying or selling your kit, or catering to the 4000+ spectators that will be at the race please send us a DM or an email before the 10th of July and we will send you out all the info you need to secure your spot.

What sort of food and drink would you like to see at the race this year?

Now most of the entry madness is over we have 10 more marshal spots to fill and with those comes access to a spot for the race. If you sign up to be a marshal then arriving to marshal and doing so for the full day is a requirement for the entry to be honoured/ whoever gets the spot being allowed to race.
You need to be over 18 to marshal and will be track side for the day, helping us deliver the event.
This spot can also be cashed in next year if you want a guarantee of being able to race yourself. If you are interested please email us on [email protected] with your contact details, any relevant marshalling experience (and if it’s Mtb related or other sports) and anything else you think that might help us select you.
