On what was a scorching day, HGC Pro Mark Allen and Captain Clive took part in the PGA Captain/Pro Qualifier at Coxmoor Golf Club.
They managed a respectable 44pts in the pairs better-ball format which they thought might have a chance of qualifying.
But two scores of 50 & 49pts were recorded which threw them out of the qualifying spots.

96 ladies took part in our Ladies Open AmAm who were all very well looked after by our team of member volunteers on the day.
Members Sue Priest, Carol Rabjohn with their partners Kerry Lamb and Alison Jubb came close to winning the day but a great score of 93 points took the title.

Congratulations to Tom Foster who hit the shot of his life with a 4 hybrid on our 10th hole.
A stunning little draw, maybe because it was struck off the toe, curved towards the hole. One bounce and the ball then rolled at perfect pace into the hole!
No need for any shotguns on the farmers field at that point because the noise generated by Tom and his other three playing partners cleared birds for miles around.

Captain Clive held his second away day of the year at Wetherby Golf Club Limited and the winners of the day were Jack & Mandy Glaves.

Captain Clive's Day was another tremendous occasion, with 133 members taking part in a superb day of Golf.
Blessed with excellent weather and a course presented in outstanding condition by the greens team, the day was enjoyed by all who took part.
Congratulations to Neil Booth, who claimed the overall title with a superb nett 64, while a special mention also goes to junior Harry Taskin for recording a hole-in-one on the 7th from the blue tees – a fantastic achievement!

What an absolute pleasure it has been for us to welcome the British Transplant Games to HGC and to over the last couple of days.
It was fantastic to meet everyone, welcome them to the Golf club and hear their stories!
