Hey guys,
It’s that time of year again where we need the assistance of you lovely parents to help out with the running of the show. We just need an idea for now on who would be happy to volunteer, who currently hold a chaperone license and who are happy to apply (we will assist) for one.
Being a chaperone involves assisting all children in getting ready for their dance/scene number. You’ll be made aware of who will be in what costume and when. No need to take anyone up to the stage as that will be the job of the runner only. Some chaperones will accompany children to stage side just for crowd control. You won’t be left to do this, details will ge explained and myself or Sarah Smith will be happy to answer any questions you have. Thankyou for reading.

Here's what we've been up to at MDTS during the Easter Hols. It's the new Royal Palace backdrop for "Cinderella" in July. Here's how it progressed. Can't wait to finally get it hung at the Montgomery with all our fabulous performers onstage again. Xx🥰

MDTS had an Exam and Assessment session this weekend. Everyone worked very hard and we want to wish everyone the best of luck. Whatever the outcome we're really proud of you all for the progress you've all continued to make in spite of Covid absences. Your commitment and dedication is definitely paying off You're all amazing🥰❤️. Xx

Hi everyone. As you all know this years annual show is Cinderella, taking place at the Montgomery theatre in July (🤞🏻) in order for us to have a successful show we need to call on you all and ask if anyone is willing to volunteer to be a licensed chaperone for the show.
For the moment I just need a rough number of who will be able to help.
This year all chaperones must hold a chaperone license.
I’m happy to go through this with any of you in due course however please be aware the license process does take up to 8weeks to come through and without chaperones we can’t run a show (🙈) sorry for lengthy message 💕
Below is a link with more info on chaperone licenses.

Apply for or renew a chaperone licence All children working in entertainment need to be accompanied by a registered chaperone.

Amazing!! Here's our Beginners Musical Theatre Class. The first time in 86 years of MDTS that boys outnumber girls!! How times have changed😄Long may it continue.!!😁
We currently have 14 boys in our school ranging from age 2 to 16 and we couldn't be prouder of them all.🥰❤️ We've now got a male teacher too, a rare occurrence for boys at grass roots level and they're really enjoying the experience 😁 # # #

Congratulations to our lovely Daniel. He's finally achieved his box splits after lots of hard work during Acrodance. He's following the family tradition. Here's his sisters, Mercy and Terezka in box splits too. 😄 Xx

Here's our gorgeous Isabelle and Francesca who were lucky enough to attend a ballet masterclass given by Birmingham Royal Ballet Principal Brandon Lawrence in Birmingham. Brandon was Bbodance trained and has recently become a patron for Bbodance which is very close to his heart.Since becoming a patron he has been fronting many projects for bbodance's dancers. It was truly a ballet class to remember for Isabelle and Francesca and we're so proud of them both for their total dedication to dance. They attend classes every single day and travel to residential holiday schools and scholarship classes alongside their GCSE studies which they will take in May. Well done girls you're both amazing ambassadors for MDTS and young people. You truly deserve your many successes. ❤️🥰X # #

We had a fabulous time at MDTS last week. We finally managed to perform our Senior Musical Theatre Show. We started rehearsing at the beginning of Lockdown 1 on Zoom, not an easy task but soooo worth it when everyone got to finally perform it. Such a buzz to be back onstage again after such a long break. Everyone was absolutely amazing. Congratulations to all our wonderful Senior performers, you're such a professional group. We're so proud of you. ❤️
Many thanks also to our lovely chaperones and backstage crew without whom it wouldn't be possible.🥰

We're so looking forward to our full school production of Cinderella at the Montgomery Theatre next July, knowing we've got such a talented bunch of young people to work with. 😁 X # # #

We're so pleased to welcome all our wonderful students and families back to MDTS for the half term. Last Saturday and Sunday our Junior and Beginner's Musical Theatre Classes had a fantastic time performing excerpts from "Annie". They started rehearsing the show during lockdown 1 and were very excited to finally get to do it. It was the first time the Juniors and Beginners had done a show independently of the Seniors which meant they got to play the main parts. They were absolutely amazing!! We will definitely be repeating the experience. Congratulations everyone.🥰 You were a fantastic group to work with. Can't wait for the next one.😁 Many thanks to the parents and older students who were our amazing production without whom it wouldn't have been possible. 🥰❤️X # # #

A small group of MDTS students had a blast during the Summer. We did a workshop inspired by Joseph and his Tecnicolor Dreamcoat. We performed, fully costumed, most of the show after auditioning and rehearsing for a week. Everyone worked hard and had a great time and benefitted from the intensive tuition they received as part of a small group.By the end of the week everyone's acting and vocal skills had improved enormously. It's a really fun week but it's also an important nurturing experience for our future Musical Theatre performers. Well done to everyone involved. You were a great team to work with. You were all Stars. X # # #🥰🥰
