Dear Skaters, Coaches, Parents and Event Participants,
We would like to offer our sincere apologies for the significant disruption caused by today’s power outage in Sheffield. We recognise the considerable preparation, time, travel and expense involved in attending this event, and we fully appreciate the disappointment and frustration this situation has caused.
After careful consideration, and with great regret, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the October Qualifier. The competition will not resume.
Following the decision made by the event referees, the Senior Women, Senior Men and Junior Men competitions have concluded. The short program standings will therefore serve as the final results for these categories.
Next Steps and Further Information
● British Championships Qualification, Rankings and Entries: Further information will be communicated next week.
● Competition Entry Fees: Details regarding these will be shared in the coming days.
● Further Updates: Any additional information and guidance will be communicated through British Ice Skating’s official channels, including Sportity, social media and our website.
We kindly ask for your patience while we work through the necessary arrangements. No further action is required from participants at this stage.
We understand the impact this decision will have on skaters, coaches, parents and everyone who has
invested considerable time and effort in preparing for this event. We deeply regret the circumstances that have led to this outcome and sincerely apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience caused.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation throughout this challenging situation.
We are grateful for the support and professionalism demonstrated by our skating community during these difficult circumstances.
Yours sincerely,
British Ice Skating
