St Ann’s Golf Society (STAGS) Annual General Meeting

2015 Season
-All members agreed for the introduction of a league table during the season, where the best 5 scores, of each member is used (not including the annual golfing weekend), to collate the total score, over the 2015 season.
-It was agreed by all members present, to change the format of existing trophies for each venue played. Rather than individual trophies awarded for each venue (Winner, Nearest Pin and Longest Drive), it was agreed that prizes would be presented after each game –
(Winner -golf voucher, Nearest Pin and Longest Drive- sleeve of balls)
-The presentation night has been provisionally arranged for Saturday 28th of November 2015, and the prizes given at this event will reflect-
(Captains Trophy- Golfer of the Season- League Winner/Runner up- Winter Shield Winner)
2015 Venues
It was agreed that all venues will be played as routine on the 3rd Sunday of each month as-
22/3/15 – The Lincolnshire GC (Crowle)
19/4/15 – Rother Valley GC
16/5/15 – Wortley GC
18/7/15 – Styrup GC
16/8/15 – Hickleton GC
20/9/15 – Kingswood GC (Doncaster)
18/10/15 –Captains Day (to be selected by the STAGS Captain)
All venues to and playing format to be arranged by the 2015 STAGS Captain
Golfing Weekend
The annual STAGS Golfing Weekend will take place on Sunday 7th of June to Monday 8th of June, the venue selected is Mottram Hall (near Macclesfield)
Active Handicap System
Members agreed to continue the active handicap system, as was used in 2014

Footnote
Mark Fenton (Captain), has asked after the meeting, for consideration of the club to purchase scoring software, this will assist with the submission of scores, and reflect a true handicap of members involved in competitions during 2015. The software will also compile official league table of progress (filter and select the best 5 scores of the year and officiate club handicaps.

Our annual prize giving is to be held on Saturday 28 November at Stags Headquarters, (St Ann's).
We will be holding our Famous Annual Putting contest on the night, a spot prize tombola, and our charity raffle.
Could holders of returnable trophies please let us have them back asap so they can be engraved for 2014.

Sky Sports Update.

Captain's Day at The Lincolnshire was won by the famous Mexican Bandit Miguel Sanchez Ashton with a fantastico score of 39 (yes, Thirty-Nine!). This score prompted an emergency meeting of the Andy Capp Committee (provisional wing) where he was sumerarily dealt with!
Well done to Tim Parker who took borh the Longest Drive and Nearest Pin prizes!

Re Captain's Day.

Andrew and Mick played the Lincolnshire course last weekend and gave the course rave notices.
Whilst they were there they negotiated a great meal deal for our Captain's Day.
For an extra £10 we can have coffee and bacon sandwiches on arrival and a full meal afterwards.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you're planning to take advantage of this offer as we need to order in advance.
