Climbing hold creators and manufacturers Core Climbing, formed 2008. Owned and run by three Sheffield-based climbers; Tim Marsh, Stephen Royle and Leo Moger.

Inspired by the crags and boulders in legendary Peak district
and years of climbing and travelling. We love to capture the essence of the amazing climbing venues and rock types we visit, and to design holds purely for climbing pleasure.

Proof that a garage setup can still be seriously impressive ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

This recent home wall project brought together CORE Matting and a Friction Walls articulated board to create a practical, durable training space built for regular use.

Core holds in action at City Bouldering ๐Ÿ‘€

A few shots from โ€™s Spring League Round 4 and Finals, where the new blue Urban Plastix holds made their way onto the wall for the grand finale.

After three weeks of competitors climbing 75 blocs across the City Bouldering centres, Round 4 brought 25 fresh qualifying blocs and one final chance to battle for a place in finals.

From technical sequences to powerful comp style movement, the blocs were built to test variety, creativity and control. Exactly what we love to see from holds out in the wild. ๐Ÿ™Œ

A big thank you to for having us involved, and to the team for putting together such a strong event for their community. Always good to see Core holds helping setters create interesting movement, and giving climbers something fun to work through.

Wishing everyone a great week out there, and hopefully some good conditions on the rock. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Whether you are heading out for a quick session, a full day at the crag or getting the pads ready for the weekend, we have kit made to help you make the most of it.

From the Workhorse and Titan crash pads, to our pad bundles, Helios Duvet pad, Nucleus sit pad and Atom pad, it all exists for one reason. To help you get outside, protect your landings, keep your shoes clean and climb the moves you actually want to climb. ๐Ÿ’ช

Have a class week out there ๐Ÿ‘‹

The World Climbing Competition season is in full swing and if thereโ€™s one thing we are seeing on the wall, itโ€™s variety. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Big macro movement, tiny feet, delicate hand placements, tension through awkward positions and technical sequences that ask climbers to move well, not just pull hard.
Core holds have made appearances on IFSC competition routes through , and our Geo Slate Collection was designed with that same style of setting in mind.๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Clean, simple shapes. Low profile plates. Subtle sloping surfaces. Enough variation to build coordination, precision and footwork into boulders and routes across slabs, vertical walls, aretes, volumes and more complex wall profiles.

Whether you are setting for comp style movement, training for the season ahead or adding more technicality to your wall, Geo Slates bring that balance of simplicity, challenge and creativity!

The Atom Pad. Built from what would have ended up in the bin โ™ป๏ธ

Every offcut from our commercial matting and home wall builds gets a second life inside our Atom Pad. Carpet, foam and fabric that would have been waste rolled into a properly built crash pad you can take to the crag.

Lightweight, low profile, and the most sustainable pad in our range. Made in Sheffield from the bits that would otherwise be thrown away.

Shop the Atom on the website.

Round 1 of the Midlands Youth Climbing Series at Pinnacle Bouldering Centre looked like such a brilliant day ๐Ÿ™Œ

Events like this are exactly why we love being part of the climbing community. Seeing young climbers get stuck in, try hard, support each other, and enjoy climbing on Core holds is something we will always get excited about.

A massive well done to everyone who competed, supported, organised, volunteered, set, and helped make the day happen. The future of climbing is looking strong ๐Ÿ’ช

We also love being able to come along to events like this, chat to the community, and show more of what we make, from holds and volumes to pads, bags, and commercial matting. If you ever see the Core team at an event, come and say hi. We are always happy to talk products, answer questions, and show you what we do.

Thanks again to for having us involved, and for continuing to create such a positive space for young climbers.

The Neo family just got a whole lot bigger ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Introducing the Neo Pinches: a full range built to slot straight into your existing Neo setup. Mini, Medium, Large and Super sizes, each split into an Easy set and a Medium set, with thin and wide versions across the board. Mini Volumes are on the way too ๐Ÿ‘€

Same Neo aesthetic, way more options for setters. Whether you're working a comp, dialling in a board, or building everyday gym sets, there's a pinch in there for the job.

And yes, you'll be seeing a lot of these in our new showroom too. More on that soon.

Made in Sheffield โ™ป๏ธ

The bit of every Core pad we'll always be proud of: the bit you can't see ๐ŸŒฑ
Every crash pad, mat and bag we make is built right here at our Sheffield factory by a team of more than 20 local people. No outsourced lines, no shipping containers crossing oceans, no waiting six months for a reorder. Just a proper kit, made by climbers, for climbers, here in the UK.

Every crash pad, mat and bag we make is built right here at our Sheffield factory by a team of more than 20 local people. No outsourced lines, no shipping containers crossing oceans, no waiting six months for a reorder. Just proper kit, made by climbers, for climbers, here in the UK.

Here's why we do it this way:
โžก๏ธ Made in Sheffield, on demand. We build what's needed when it's needed, so nothing sits unsold in a warehouse waiting to be landfilled. Smaller carbon footprint, smaller cost to the planet.
โžก๏ธ UK sourced foam, built to last. When a pad finally retires, the foam can be recycled right here in the UK and turned into brand new recon foam. The lifecycle stays close to home.
โžก๏ธ In house from start to finish. When the people making the pad are in the same room as the people designing it, issues get spotted early and fixed properly. Quality control is just a chat across the workshop.
โžก๏ธ Less waste, more climbing. Carpet, foam and fabric offcuts from our commercial matting and home wall jobs get rolled straight into pads like the Atom. What could have been thrown out ends up underfoot at the crag.
โžก๏ธ Backing the people doing it right. When good people put on good events, we love saying yes. The recent London shop event with and was one we were proud to be part of.

Cool people, local production, less waste. That's what Core is here to do.
