Sheffield Giants Academy – Coaching Opportunities (U16 / U19 Contact)

We’re growing our coaching family for the new season and would love to welcome passionate people who want to make a difference in youth American football!

About Us
Sheffield Giants Academy are an ambitious American football club with big goals - developing young players and building the sport across our region. Our U16 and U19 teams are aiming high, and we’re looking for enthusiastic coaches to help us shape the next generation of players - from complete beginners to future stars.

Opportunities Available
• Head Coach - Previous coaching experience in American football required (ideally with coordinator experience). Level 1 coaching qualification needed, with a willingness to work towards Level 2.
• Coordinator - Coaching or extensive playing experience required. Level 1 qualification (or willingness to complete it) needed.
• Positional Coach - Previous assistant coaching or playing experience preferred. Level 1 qualification required (or willingness to complete it).
• Assistant Coach - Perfect for those new to coaching or to the sport. No experience needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to complete Level 1 within 12 months.

What You’ll Be Doing (varies by role)
• Inspiring and leading players, helping them reach their potential as individuals and as a team.
• Designing and delivering training that supports players of all abilities.
• Developing game strategies and preparing for match days.
• Working alongside other coaches and volunteers as part of a supportive team.
• Building positive connections with players, parents, and the local community.
• Promoting a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Commitment to training sessions, match days, and club activities throughout the season.

There’s been a medical incident just before half time. One of our players has been taken to hospital as a precaution. He’s off for an MRI and a CT scan at Manchester Royal Infirmary. Many thanks to the medical professionals.

Sunday is for football

Sunday 11th. Let’s play some ball.

What a great day a flag football yesterday, with all our Giants teams doing us proud. Lots of winning but more importantly lots of growing. Shout out particular to our under 11s who had two wins and scored a total of over 70 points and allowed less than 14! Well done all
