First game of the season, is finally here!
After what felt like a lifetime, we kick off our campaign.
Yet again, we would like to thank The greyhound, Ecclesfield for their continued support of our team.

Match report
An excellent performance in our final pre season friendly.
Red Rose run out 10-1 winners v AFC Sheffield. A throughly dominant display saw 6 different goal scorers and the team adapting to play in 2 different formations.
Goals from brad x3, kian x2, blade x2, Nathan, dane & jack topped off what has been a very good pre season for the boys.
Man of match Dane.
Now onto our 1st league game of the season next sunday.

Ecclesfield Red Rose Mens Vs Princess Royal

Today’s game was a bit of the unknown for Red Rose as Princess Royal are a new team. We started the game off well with some passing and wasn't long before we scored, a lovely ball out to the wing for Kian who squared the ball in to the box for Jack to slot home. It didn't take long for Royal to get level. A bad back pass saw there player latch on to it to go round the keeper to slot it in to a open net. After that we started to take control of the game with another goal from Jack assisted by Kian to make it 2-1. Soon after we made it 3-1 with a cross from Jack for a very rare header from Braeden at the back post. Royal woke up after that and scored 2 to peg us back to 3-3 with a bit help from us with sloppy defending. Again, we took the lead again with a flick on from Kev for Braeden to slot one into the bottom corner from 25 yards. Yet again Royal came back us to make it 4-4. Unfortunately we couldn’t get hold of the game but neither could Royal. Roses next goal came from a long kick from our keeper Jose which went straight though to their keeper but he fumbled it and Jack was there to slot it home for a hat-trick. However, Royal came back at us to make it 5-5.
The last 20 minutes Rose started to play and it showed. Nathan played a free kick into the box the keeper fumbled again and Dane sloted the ball home. We kept pressing in attack which resulted in a corner. Braeden put the ball in to the back post and Jack sloted it home although there was a bit of confusion if Jack actually touched it to make the result 7-5 .
All in all not a good game from our lads but it's the results that count.
Good performances from Jack with 4 goals Braeden with 2 goals but the outstanding performance and man of the match goes to Kian.

Match report
Red rose v Kelham island
A very composed and confident performance today from Red Rose. We played a very good Kelham Island team, this was our biggest test of pre season so far! Rose took the lead after a quick counter attack with Kian giving us the lead, following a lovely ball into the box from Chaz. Kelham then got into the game and equalised with a shot from the edge of box, they then took lead from a dubious penalty decision.
We managed to equalise just before half time from a corner with a disputed goal in the Rose ranks! Was it a goal from Coben following a flick from Dane or was it a goal for Kian following a touch from Coben? The argument will rumble on😂.
We started the 2nd half much more dominant and we were in control of the game. We took the lead when our new striker Will hit a beauty of a shot from 25 yards out after a lovely through ball from Dea.
The game was sealed when Chaz was slammed to the floor in the box, the ref awarded us a penalty. Kian dispatched the penalty coolly making it 4-2.
Man of match was Dane, a commanding midfield performance.

It starts next weekend Friday 1st August
It starts with league One and Two,
Then league One and Championship
If you last that two weeks then it’ll be Premier league and Championship
You can’t pick a team twice, and there are no buy back ins.
Half of the prize pot goes to the winner and the other half into the team!

RED ROSE 4 - 1 CHARNOCK

A very confident and commanding performance today from red rose against a very good Charnock side in very difficult weather conditions .
We came out of the game winning 4-1.
We had 3 new players make their debuts today, they all put in fantastic performance! But as a team they all stuck together and worked together!
