I’m not anti-Mounjaro. Its not usually my first tool to suggest to clients either, but its a reality of the world we live in...
For some people, medication can be a really valuable tool for improving their health and supporting weight loss.
But I do think we need to talk more about what happens alongside the weight loss.
Because if the biggest fear when coming off medication is simply “I’m going to feel hungry again”, I think there’s an opportunity to learn more about what your body is actually telling you.
Hunger is normal.
So is feeling satisfied.
Learning to recognise those cues, understand what a balanced meal looks like, eat enough protein and fibre, and fuel your body appropriately for your individual needs are all skills worth developing and will last you a lifetime.
Your nutrition should reflect you, your body, activity, goals, health, lifestyle and circumstances.
Medication can help change your weight if needed.
But learning how to feed and care for your body is what helps you LIVE WELL in it.
So if you’re coming off appetite-suppressing medication, my advice would be to prepare to understand what your body is saying, learn how to provide yourself with healthy balanced meals and what that looks like for you ✨️
