Mettle Milers

On Sunday evening we had our first official Mettle Milers Christmas get together - unfortunately not all were able to make it, but the three of us had a good time!

And on our normal Monday run those not injured or busy and who were willing to risk being out in the rain saw some lovely Christmas lights.... and we didn't get rained on! It was an enjoyable 36 hours!

We're looking forward to sampling some of Mettle Miler and his team's bakes tomorrow after where Run Leader will also be RD'ing! We're just hoping the rain clears up and stays away for the morning so it's an all round success!

Some of the team took on the this morning in what turned out to be glorious weather eventually. A fab race, with excellent results for all, great crowd support and lovely volunteers! Back to training tomorrow night with a little 8k chatty run to show off our race t-shirts!

Happy birthday to us! 🥳 It's been a whole year of running as the Sheffield branch of Mettle Milers and last night some of our wonderful regulars got to run a carefully planned Strava art route by our member and fab stand in run leader Stephen. Here's to many more miles of smiles and chat!

Great run last night with the team, a lovely 8k loop, it clearly wasn't hilly enough as there was a LOT of chatting going on! Just what we like to hear! Back next week for a 5k... this time with some hilly bits ☺️

On Saturday Run Leader was RD while the Mettle Milers crew did a mini takeover of some of the Graves parkrun volunteer slots - we're not a huge running group but we were proud to have taken at least half of the needed roles - particularly around the finish so we could welcome all the participants back after a tough run in the heat! Some of the team stepped into roles they hadn't done before and realised it wasn't as hard as it might look 🙂 We had a great morning in glorious weather!

Last night's run was back to 5k, and we followed it with a quick trip to the pub - a lovely evening and we missed those that couldn't join us. It was great to keep in touch with our runners on the injury bench too, we're looking forward to seeing them back running with us soon!

Our mini team were out in force repping the merch too!

On the 28th and 29th June some of the team took on the Summer Edition of the ROUND Sheffield Run and they smashed it! A staged trail run round beautiful parts of our home city followed by post race live music, food and drink in the park - a fab day, a great event and I know they're already talking about next year! 🥰 You know you've got a great running club when three of you don't get into London but decide to do Manchester Marthon on a whim anyway... roll on April 19th, we'll be ready! 🥰

Another fab Monday run with these guys tonight - it was a warm one and we did a bit through the woods just to mix it up - thanks for a great run!
