Our first training session on the all weather floodlight pitch last night. The Sheffield AllStars blues U9s team have took part in an effective training session, picking up on some of the constructive points which we took from Sunday's match.

The boys focused on how to deal with the higher balls that come down from big kicks from a opposition goalkeepers, and spent a good part of the session working individually and also within pairs to learn how to effectively control and take possession of those higher balls.

The boys also used the training session to work on positional play and how to quickly transition through the lines as we have seen some good use of this in recent weeks.

The end of the transition allowed Karl to communicate that our captain for the season would be Jack and that our vice captain would be nominated every week and be selected if they were to be awarded trainer of the week.

Noah achieved Trainer of the week so is Vice Captain for Sunday.

We head off to Graves Park on Sunday to play in a cup match, and we hope to take some of the learning points tonight into that game.

⭐ MEET CAPTAIN JACK ⭐
We’re delighted to announce that Jack has been named captain for the season! 🧢⚽️
Jack was nominated by the coaches in recognition of his excellent leadership, attitude and commitment on the pitch. But his qualities as a captain go far beyond match day.
Jack is a fantastic friend to everyone within the group, always encouraging and supporting his teammates. He plays an important role in helping others develop, grow in confidence and enjoy their football at Sheffield Allstars.
He leads by example, shows respect to his teammates and coaches, and always gives his best for the team.
We’re incredibly proud to have Jack as our captain and look forward to seeing him lead the team throughout the season. 👏💙⚽️
Congratulations, Captain Jack! 🧢⭐

Sheffield Allstars u15’s training…

Trying to get the lads to up the intensity on their warm up because we’ve been starting slowly in games. Then we went on to a passing drill we’ve done for a couple of seasons now but are now looking to perfect it and focus on the speed and quality of passes.
We then had a game at the end which had some really good stuff and really bad stuff. Callum’s pressing was really good and max never stopped running the channels. Well done to all the lads! And let’s hope for another improved performance on Sunday!

U11W training

Tonight the lads moved to our winter pitch. It was a good turn out for numbers and 100% effort as always. Tonight was mainly about target practice as this is the main area for improvement for the team.

Keep up the hard work ALLSTARS!!

U9’s Blues played against a real tough opposition in Kendry on Sunday.

However, the lads never really showed any fear, if anything it was the complete performance. I'd probably say the performance of the season so far when you look at the quality of players they had to put their wits against.

Some wonderful linkup playing from back to front, opening the scoring and in an entertaining first half there was nothing between the teams.

The performance across the whole team was wonderful to see, and there were some standout performances again from those in a blue shirt.

In the end their incredible effort couldn't quite see us achieve a positive result, however the positivity in what we're asking and expecting of them to do week in week out has been applied on the football pitch.

A wonderful spectacle for grassroots football that was end to end, had everything from goals to last stitch defending/saves and happy little faces which is most important at this age.

Zaciniho and Addison picked up the trophies this week after a great performance from the two lads.
Zach achieved man of the match.
Addison achieved parents player of the match.

Next week we face Steelers up at Graves Park where the lads look to kick on and hopefully achieve another positive result and performance.
Well done Allstars U9’s Blues ⚽️💙

Sheffield Allstars u15’s - 0
Woodhouse u15’s - 3

Our difficult start to the season continued this week with another defeat but the lads played a lot better, didn’t let woodhouse score from any corners which is better than the 3 we shipped last week. Jase played In the middle and won a lot especially in the air. Gabriel did really well down the wing and Alex made loads of saves in goal.

Sheffield Allstars U13's 1 - 2 Sheffield City Greens

A return to our home pitch this morning for the Allstars U13's, and we were hoping to make it three wins from three to kick off the season.

We started off on the back foot, surrendering far too much ground and far too much of the ball to the opposition to really get going in the game. That said, as we did break forward and create our first real couple of chances, we looked dangerous on the break. We won a corner midway through the first half, delivered beautifully by Es and Jaxon was on hand to head home. As we tried to go again though, our opponents went forward to make it 1-1 before half time.

At half time, we spoke about being stronger and braver as well as not giving the ball straight back to Sheffield City, and being more careful in possession.

As the second half began, we immediately forgot what we had spoken about and truth be told, we were second best for the duration of the second half. But again, just as we got going, our opponents punished some poor defensive choices to go 2-1 in front. And despite our efforts late on, that's unfortunately how it finished.

Onto the next, we move on together 🩵.

POTM - Jaxon
Worked incredibly hard and put in some big challenges. Taking his headed goal really well.

PPOTM - Jacob
The skipper worked hard both at LB and on the wing, unfortunately having to come off injured in the second half.

Allstars U11 Blue vs Thurcroft Hubstars Green

We spent the first 10 minutes on top but unfortunately couldn't capitalise. As is often the case, when it was the opposition's turn, they made theirs count. That is exactly what happened.

Harvey then hit a long-range effort from just inside the Thurcroft half, which caught the underside of the bar and bounced on the line—or, as a lot believe, just behind it. It was like the controversy of '66 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿all over again! But while Sir Geoff's goal stood, big Harv's didn't.

At half-time, we talked to the lads about giving everything they had to get back into the game, and that is exactly what they gave us. The football they played was excellent, only to be outdone by their sheer work rate.

This paid off, as soon into the second half we won a free kick, which Max C ⚽converted from some distance.

Not too long after, Tom⚽️ got on the end of a Noah corner. It felt like only a matter of time before another goal would come, but instead, it turned into one of those frustrating games where you just can't put the ball in the onion bag.

Caleb was today's skipper 🚢and put in a performance that had him seriously considered for one of the honours.

That being said, on a day when every single one of them put a proper shift in, the two goalscorers took home the awards. MOM went to Tom🏅 and PMOM to Max C🥉. Both played partly in defence but mainly in midfield, and both covered pretty much every blade of grass.

Onwards and upwards. Bombing on together.

Bradway FC 8-3 Sheffield Allstars.

Aside from a 20 min spell it was a day to forget for the mens team today.
We started well and went ahead on 7mins. Following some good play Reece Phelan broke through with a great run and fed Jack Harrison on the left whos cross was met and calmly converted at the back post by Kieran Davies. We were on top and I thought it was only a matter of time until we extended our lead and then on 20 mins they equalised and in all honesty we never recovered. They were on top and got a 2nd on 40mins and then an avoidable 3rd on 42mins with some very, very poor defending.
Half time and we made changes hoping to get back into the game. We started better than we'd finished the 1st and on 52 mins Following some pressure we won a corner. Harry Lovett delivered a ball which we didn't convert but kept alive and Tyler Westoby was 1st to react to making it 3-2. I thought that was us back in the game but a couple of minutes later they got a 4th and that was game over really. They got a couple of fortunate goals with deflections taking the game away from us and 2 more soft goals. The last 10 minutes we looked better and should've done better with a couple of chances we created and then on 89 minutes todays man of the match Reece Phelan latched onto a loose ball and following a 50-50 with their keeper he got our 3rd converting into an empty net and thats how it finished.
Definitely nowhere near the standards the lads have set themselves the last few weeks. We didn't get the basics right and didn't work hard enough but we get a chance to go again next week and do things better.
