Allstars U11 Blue: Mexborough Tournament Winners!

Tournament football at any level is all about peaking at the right time, and that is exactly what happened here.

We are known as a team for slow starts and then working our way into a game, so the 12-minute matches were initially a bit of a problem for us.

We came out of the group stage a bit battered and bruised, knowing that we had more to give. This led us to the semi-final against Bawtry. The lads dominated but just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net. The game ended in a stalemate, which could only mean one thing: penalties!

All that penalty practice at the end of our winter training sessions paid off as we didn't miss a single one, firmly cementing our place in the final.

In the final, we were up against the tournament hosts, Mexborough Rangers. This was one of the classiest displays I have ever seen this team put on, breezing to a 2-0 victory.🏆

Despite a slow start to the day, all the lads were incredible in the knockout stages. More importantly, they were respectful to the opponents they beat along the way.

Tom🥇, our debutant, has fitted into the team beautifully. He was awarded our player of the tournament for his faultless performance at the back.

As today's captain,🚢 Harvey had the honour of lifting the trophy. This was very fitting because he really did put in a leader's performance.

Well done boys, from a very proud bunch of coaches and parents.

MEN FOOTBALL!
Wednesday night we had our first ever training for our mens team a few familiar faces and some new ones

Over the next few weeks we will be holding trials to see who will start this journey into mens football it was a decent session plenty of football played it was good to see how well the younger lads adapted to playing against men
