💭 TRAINING FOR THE HALF TRUTHS 💭
The last few months haven’t followed the perfect plan but I’m proud of the progress 🩵
I booked this ASICS Manchester Half last year with every intention of following a 12-week training block… but a few months ago, I sacked that off and started training on how I FELT 😬 Less pressure whilst still accumulating mileage, incorporating strength work but simply enjoying the process!
📈
🫶 LOVE for running bug is back
✈️ Exploring new places running whilst travelling
🔥 A sub 50min 10K on the hottest day of the year
⛽️ Improved fuelling and learning along the way
☀️ Making the most of sunnier days and longer days
✨ Social runs and solo runs chance to switch off /connect
🩵 Staying injury-free and enjoying it!
📉
✖️Not actually following the plan
🤷🏻♀️No idea of on the day races performances
🤢 Bad food poisoning even missed Deadly Dozen running comp
🤒 Typicalky hit with a virus the week of the Great North Run almost DNF
🩸 The struggles of low iron and ferritin girly
🏃🏼♀️ Serious lacked interval work, no speed work or even beneficial HIIT classes as started to coach more and routine yeah just changes every week atm… because life’s been LIFE-ING!!!
😂 A client quoted, “The only interval work you’ve been doing is in and out of the country” 🫦 DON’T SHOOT ME! Enjoyed a very balanced Euro summer okay 🏝️
With A WHOLE LOT of new beginnings in work and life and change somethings kinda had to give. But still showed up, still put one foot in front of the other, still crossed that line, still got that medal with a smile, still got the drive in me for this process of becoming better 🦋
It’s also been a weird and wonderful feeling knowing you’re approaching these runs with the fact you found out you’ll be running THE LONDON MARATHON 🥹 First ever full marathon 😬 raising money for British Heart Foundation ❤️ There’s a link in bio to support this next race and feel free to follow along for more on this journey 🏃♀️
A reminder that progress doesn’t have to be perfect. Always adapt in a way that feels good but keep showing up and appreciate what your body can do!
WHAT A PRIVILEGE IT IS TO MOVE YOUR BODY, NO MATTER THE MOVEMENT OR PACE 🩵
