Man of the Match 🚨

Oscar & Isaac H 🏅🏅

This week’s Man of the Match had to go to two players as we simply couldn’t split them.

Isaac H - Our shot stopper had plenty to deal with today and was excellent in dealing with everything that came his way. He made some excellent decisions when playing out from the back and pulled off some outstanding, camera worthy saves to keep us in the game🧤

Oscar - A real rock at the back today, putting his body on the line to keep the ball out. He used some clever defending to deal with some dangerous attacking players and was also excellent in helping us play out from the back, both short and long. He even showed the confidence to go on a solo run up the pitch late in the game!💪

Two brilliant performances and both thoroughly deserved the award. Well done lads!👏

🚨 Match Summary 🔵⚫️

A tough away trip to Whiston Wildcats, a team who had scored 25 goals in their opening four games, so we knew we were facing a real attacking threat.

We played some really nice football to work our way up the pitch and took the lead through the hard work of our two starting strikers, Isaac finding himself through on goal, his shot off the post, and Josh following in to get his goal. Unfortunately, within a few minutes we allowed Whiston back into the game.

From there, it was an evenly matched contest, with both sides battling hard. In the final 10 minutes, the lads weathered some serious pressure with outstanding defending, and saves from Isaac, some excellent team togetherness on display. Unfortunately, Whiston found a late winner to make it 2-1.

Despite the result, there are plenty of positives to take. We’ll learn from today, take those positives into our next game and look to turn the performance into points. 💪💙

Man of the Match🚨

Colby🏅

Despite the result not going our way, Colby ran his socks off for the team and worked incredibly hard from start to finish. His effort was recognised by his teammates during the team talk, which made the award even more deserved.

Colby also showed great composure from the spot, confidently converting his penalty ⚽️

A brilliant example of giving everything for the team and never giving up, regardless of the result.

Well done Colby!👏

🚨 Match Summary 🔵⚫️

A trip away to Greasborough in the cup and a fantastic team performance earns us an 8-3 victory and a place back in the hat for the next round! 🏆

The lads worked incredibly hard for one another and played some lovely passing football, showing great intelligence to play through or around our opposition and create plenty of opportunities.

The lads also adapted excellently as we moved people around and asked them to play in multiple positions throughout the game. Everyone took on the challenge brilliantly and continued to give their best wherever they were asked to play 💪

Man of the Match Klaxon🚨

Josh🏅

A well deserved Man of the Match for Josh this weekend!

Two goals and an assist in today’s game, including winning himself a penalty and calmly tucking it away ⚽️

Josh was constantly looking for the ball at his feet and battling to help drive the team forward. His link up play was excellent, and he consistently found himself in the right areas and goal scoring positions.

A fantastic attacking performance and a thoroughly deserved award. Well done Josh! 👏

Man of the Match 🚨

Harry 🏅

Harry was strong in the tackle and didn’t let the physicality or pressure of the opposition phase him. He stayed determined throughout and showed great composure in a difficult game.

He was also excellent with his feet, making good decisions when playing the ball forward and helping us build from the back ⚽️

A fantastic performance, thoroughly deserving of this weekends award 👏

🚨 Match Summary 🔵⚫️

A difficult cup draw on paper against 7 Hills JFC, with them playing at a higher league level. But you could hardly tell the difference between both teams today, with the lads showing bravery, confidence and a brilliant work rate for one another from start to finish!

It was a really evenly matched game with chances for both sides. 7 Hills took one of theirs, while unfortunately we couldn’t find the back of the net despite our best efforts. Which ultimately proved to be the difference in a 1-0 defeat.

There’s so much to be proud of from today’s performance. The lads showed exactly what they’re capable of when they work together, and we’ll take that confidence and motivation into our upcoming games ⚽️
