Stocksbridge Park Steels Ladies

09/10/2026

It’s a free weekend for the ladies this Sunday! Our next match is the last of the three in the fixtures graphic.

After winning two very close games at Oughtibridge and at home against Barnsley FC Ladies First team. The ladies next match is the Sunday the 18th October when we host Frickley at Bracken Moor!

Last time out, it was a thrilling 3-3 draw away at Frickley so be ready for another fantastic match!

In the 4-3 win against Barnsley FC Ladies, our two standout performers that earned the individual awards was Anna Davis and Maisie Gilligan!

The Player of the Match went to Anna Davis, sponsored by Steve Kirk.

Anna covered every blade of grass. She dropped in to help the defence, then got all the way up to join the attack. Relentless work rate. Important blocks when Barnsley broke and a smart finish at the back post for 2-1. A proper performance in a great game.

Lynno’s Stand Out Star went to Maisie Gilligan.

Maisie is a new signing and she has settled in straight away at full back. Pace defensively and a real threat going forward. She overlapped for the equaliser and put in a brilliant cross for Gemma’s header.

Well done both. Two big performances in a proper scrap.

Up the Steels! 💛💙

The Steels Ladies took a 4-3 win at Bracken Moor against Barnsley FC Ladies first team.

A proper game. Both sides went at it and neither side was ever comfortable.

Barnsley went 1-0 up on the break. A good goal.

🟡 Gemma Harte (sponsored by Terri Harper Boxing Ltd) levelled with a header. Maisie Gilligan overlapped and the ball found Gemma. 1-1.

🔵 Anna Davis (sponsored by Steve Kirk) made it 2-1. One touch passing through the middle to Caitlin Devin (sponsored by Steve Kirk) out wide. Ball into Eve Allen (sponsored by Joey Ganley at GSL Education) and on to Anna at the back post to grab the goal!

Barnsley were level again. Confusion at the back and their pace did the rest. 2-2.

🟡 Jenna McGee put us back in front. Laura Kerr (sponsored by Hood HIll Equestrian) delivered the corner and Jenna headed it. She’s back. 3-2.

Barnsley equalised again. Excellent play and they capitalised. 3-3.

🔵 Gemma won the three points. An absolute worldie. Great strike. 4-3.

A mad game and three points that matter. We had to dig in after they kept coming back.

Well done to Barnsley. An amazing side and they made us work for it.

Next up is Frickley Athletic FC Women at home on Sunday 18th October. 14:00 kick-off at Bracken Moor.

Up the Steels! 💛💙

Player sponsor announcement. 💛💙

A huge thank you to GSL Education for sponsoring Eve Allen for the 2026/27 season.

Eve is a striker who can play on the wing as well. She holds the ball up, gets others into the game and has a proper finish. You saw that on Sunday at Oughtibridge. Eve curled it into the top corner to make it 2-0. That goal proved the difference in a 2-1 win.

GSL Education are an education recruitment agency. They place teachers and support staff in schools and have a South Yorkshire office at Thorncliffe Park in Chapeltown. If you work in education or a school needs staff, get in touch.

📧 [email protected]📞 0114 399 3815🌐 www.gsleducation.com

Player sponsors help keep subs down and keep the squad on the pitch. We appreciate it.

Welcome on board GSL.

Looking forward to more of Eve this season.

Up the Steels! 💪
